Job Title: Health and Wellness Program Coordinator

Reports To: Health and Wellness Program Director

Status: Non-Exempt

Schedule: Full Time (36 hours/week)

Monday through Thursday 12:00pm – 8:00pm

Friday 12:00 – 6:00pm

Saturday - occasionally

Position Summary:

The Health and Wellness Program Coordinator is responsible for facilitation of all fitness programs (land & water), wellness programs, & youth programs. This position also requires full cross training to the member services representative role, and will have scheduled hours working in membership services and well as an expectation to cover the front desk as needed. The coordinator will promote the value of the health and fitness function within the mission of the organization, and will be directly responsible for providing the highest quality service to members and the community.

Job Requirements:

This position requires an ability to work effectively with others and be a positive team member. Good organization skills, strong relationship skills, general knowledge of business procedures, good verbal & written communication skills, and strong computer skills are essential. The coordinator must be able to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, volunteers, members and the community.

Educational & Experience Requirements:

·  Experience with personal trainingand instructing group exercise classes required

·  Experience instructing both land and water classes preferred

·  Experience implementing nutrition or athletics programs preferred

·  Lifeguard certification preferred

·  High School Diploma required

·  Degree in health & wellness, kinesiology, fitness/exercise science, or equivalent preferred

Essential Functions:

·  Implement new strategies for health/wellness programming and growth for land and water classes.

·  Evaluate, on an ongoing basis, customer satisfaction.

·  Conduct orientation of new members to the fitness center & class offerings.

·  Make suggestions to the Health & Wellness Program Director for improved efficiency.

·  Provide consistency in class offerings even when regular instructor is absent, either by arranging coverage or by teaching class.

·  Increase member connection and commitment to YWCA programs and services and ensure the member experience is consistent, integrated and aligned to YWCA goals for member experience and engagement.

·  Assist with coordinating & ensuring rooms are set-up according to rental requests or class needs & returned to usual state (work with maintenance).

·  Ensure fitness rooms are well maintained; equipment is in safe & working order, facility is cleaned appropriately and kept tidy.

·  Pursue repair/replacement of items as needed.

·  Assist with tours.

·  Accurately reconcile daily cash drawer.

Essential Functions (continued):

·  Proficiently use Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel on a daily basis.

·  Learn and accurately utilize membership database and other software to register members, maintain accounts, complete sales and run reports.

·  Present a professional image to all.

·  Follow proper procedures for all business transactions (examples: receipts, money handling, registration).

·  Promote membership, program enrollment and merchandise sales.

·  Perform all physical and environmental demands of the position.

Miscellaneous Duties:

·  Support the mission of the YWCA.

·  Wear appropriate attire that does not conflict with the YWCA dress code.

·  Maintain current First Aid, CPR and AED certifications.

·  Report within 24 hours, in writing on appropriate forms, all accidents/incidents.

·  Other duties as assigned that are necessary to support facilitation of programs, operations, promotions, etc.
