South Leeds and Morley International – Jambo Ri – Ireland

25 July 2018 to 4 August 2018

In summer 2018, South Leeds and Morley Scouts will be continuing their international adventures by joining Scouts from across Europe at the Scouting Ireland Jamboree at Stradbarry Hall, Co Laois. Scouts will take part in a wide range of activities whilst making new friends and sharing experience with other young people of different cultures.

The final camp programme is still to be confirmed, but is likely to include a series of themed days, including water and adventure activities, hikes, scoutcraft, cultural events, innovation trails and other planned activities and surprises.

South Leeds and Morley Scouts will also take part in a couple of extra days at a campsite in Dublin, to enjoy further activities and experience the culture of the city.

South Leeds and Morley District Scouts is offering this camp to all young people in Cubs or Scouts who will be between 11 and 14½ on 25 July 2018. The inclusive cost will be £575 per participant, which is set as an absolute maximum and may be reduced dependent on currency fluctuations. The cost includes:

· Transport to and from the event and other transport during the expedition

· All meals throughout the event

· Scout travel insurance

· Group camping equipment (Scouts will need to bring their personal gear)

· A full programme of activities, including excursions.

There will be a regular payment scheme to spread the cost between now and the departure date. Payments will be required monthly (except December 2017). The expedition will also take part in fundraising events to help reduce the cost of the expedition.

If you wish for your child to take part in this international opportunity, please complete and return the attached form, along with a non-refundable deposit of £50 to your leader by 31 January 2017 secure your place. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served policy.

Please note that Scouts will be expected to abide by a code of conduct throughout the Jamboree expedition.
