The more advanced campers will be asked to play the scales, Exercise A, and the etude listed below. Exercise A is posted on the Dixie Band Camp Website; it will also be mailed to Junior High Campers who pre-register.

Junior Jazz Band Auditions
- Jazz Band Auditions will be Sightreading and Improvisation on 12 Bars Blues, in the Key of Bb, with a four bar introduction.
- Improv material can be found on the Dixie Band Camp Website:
- You may download a PDF file of the Bb Blues as well as a midi file from the website
- Drummers will demonstrate the following beat patterns in 4/4 time:Bossa, Funk, Samba, Shuffle, and Swing.
