Had over 100 people in attendance, music performance from a professor, great event even president from last year came and was impressed with event. Event is held every year in conjunction with accounting week that happens across the nation. Still pulling together the last financial pieces for final report. Questions? None. Thank you SPF!

III)  New Clubs

iii)  Cyber Security Club – no one here

iv)  Battle Crows – Johnnie Templeton – President. Historical Guild with flair. Costumes, historical renaissance fair. Mercenary guild. Run the security of the fair. Trying to get student involvement to continue this. Looking for 12 students to be involved. Questions? Will your club be doing anything up until June? We don’t have much funding right now, but want to have a cosplay dance for Halloween. Have a few fundraiser ideas as well. Request seed money $100.00. First event should be around Halloween. See if you can partner up with Game Club?

v)  Deactivation appeal – NSLS – 4 reasons of concern, NSLS has right to appeal within 30 days. Deactivation is a semester long period that the club would not be recognized on campus. Upon the beginning of next semester, they would be allowed to re-register.

·  43 voters, 29 needed for 2/3

·  Exec board – 5 mins – 4 areas of concern: Request for serving, external club accounts, auction prize claim forms, communication with vendors. Serving – paperwork not rec’d from NSLS to SCGL office, email asking for serving request no response. Request didn’t reflect what happened at the Gala. Request stated there would only be wine in the auction baskets, cash bar on bill. Finances – Marriott bill rec’d by UAA, asked club how event was paid and it was determined they have an external account. Communication with vendors – contracts signed by club members not by procurement office. Prize Claim forms not rec’d from the silent auction. In our perspective Exec board feels that NSLS has to prove all 4 issues are incorrect for CC to override exec board decision.

·  NSLS – Audio played, president with Annie Route stating that there are no minutes from the meeting. Without meeting minutes, this deactivation shouldn’t be allowed. They have to prove that the way they conducted the investigation is correct for this deactivation to be upheld. All we want is a vote, we don’t want to prolong this. Please look at documents handed out – proves that exec board is incorrect with their accusations against NSLS>

·  Discussion – We did not check the clickers at the beginning of the meeting because we were already running behind. Did you get approval for the recording? No, AK is one of the states that you don’t have to get approval for. All the other meetings were recorded as well and we have a lot more recordings if anyone wants to here them.

·  Discussion right before the vote – JT - nowhere in the bylaws does it say execs need to take meeting minutes during exec meetings. In 2013 there was an issue with the invoice due to a line item for bartender fees. Corey – doesn’t matter because there are no meeting minutes, you have to have documented quorum to make that decision. SE – bylaws state that a club will be deactivated if… “you don’t follow university policy and procedures” it doesn’t state it needs to be voted on. Pre-Law – please don’t insult us and address the issues. Battle Crows – RRO are just guidelines. JT – CC concern is here to make sure things function, concerns that were brought to us are a liability to the university. Concerns about the way the beer/wine request was approved. TIME. Motion to move to voting. Seconded. Objection – discussion for 3 additional minutes. Objection retracted. Vote 1 to move into the vote on discussion, vote 2 to extend time. 1 – 34, 2 – 9.

·  Vote on deactivation decision – 1 to support decision that exec board made, 2 to agree with appeal of NSLS, anything else is abstain. Results: 1 - 23 2 - 14 abstain – 6.

·  CC exec board decision is sustained.
