Bacteria “Most Wanted” Poster

Procedure:

  1. Students have one period in the library/computer lab to research their disease. Any additional time needed for research or production of the poster is to be done on their own.
  2. Students will then have one period in class to design and create their most wanted poster.
  3. Students will then present their findings to the class

Project Description:

Make a wanted poster for one of the bacterial pathogens listed below. Poster is to be on 8.5" x 11" paper. Include:

1.Name (Common & Scientific Name) & description (shape- cocci, bacilli, spirilla)

2. "Photo" (picture/diagram) of its appearance

3.Organism's m.o. (police jargon) (How the organism attacks and spreads)

4.Most common victims to prey upon

5.Hide out of the culprit (where it is most likely to be found)

6.Most common injury done to victim

7.Is it considered armed and dangerous? Rate the degree of damage caused.

(The higher the degree of damage, the higher the reward)

8.Most effective weapons against the germ(how you can treat or defend against the disease)
