2011 Los Angeles Auto Show Facts
What: The Los Angeles Auto Show is one of the top automotive events worldwide, bringing together the latest new vehicles from auto manufacturers around the world. The 2011 show will feature more than 50 world and North American debuts plus more than 1,000 of the latest vehicles ranging from sports cars and sedans to crossovers and minivans.
Dates: Friday, Nov. 18 – Sunday, Nov. 27 (OPEN THANKSGIVING DAY!)
Debuts: More than 20 significant world debuts and more than 30 North American debuts will showcase an auto industry that is rapidly changing to reflect new consumer demands. Vehicles range from highly efficient, 40-mpg internal combustion engine-powered vehicles, such has the world debut of the Chevy Spark to performance and luxury vehicles like the Audi R8 GT Spyder, Porsche 911 and Bentley Continental GTC.
Concept Vehicles: Nearly a dozen concepts will be unveiled, including BMW’s dramatic i3 and i8, the Cadillac Ciel, Land Rover’s DC100, Jaguar’s C-X16 plus others from Volvo, KIA, Honda and Subaru.

Electric, Hybrid and
Alt. Fuels Vehicles: Fuel efficiency comes standard at the L.A. Auto Show with more than 70 new “green” vehicles on display. Virtually every automaker has a solution for making vehicles run cleaner and use less fuel, from electrics and hybrids to hydrogen fuel cell and natural gas. The number of exhibiting vehicles using some form of electrification has grown more than 25 percent since the last show. Cars that achieve 40-plus miles per gallon using traditional gasoline or clean diesel have doubled.
Technology: High-tech systems have become one of the most important features of the car itself and a new wave of futuristic automotive technologies are being debuted at this year’s show. Technology to look for includes advanced applications of Bluetooth, radar sensors, embedded telephony and cloud computing. In use, they give drivers hands-free access to personal data, communications, audio entertainment, social networking and advanced safety measures previously unimaginable. New technology developments unveiled at the show are expected from Audi, Cadillac, Ford, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and others.
Kids’ Fun Zone: The show also offers family fun and entertainment with the popular Kids’ Fun Zone, open both weekends including the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The play area features video games, toy car rides and a variety of other games, crafts and activities free to show attendees.
Aftermarket
Accessories: The L.A. Auto Show has an entire hall dedicated to the automotive aftermarket and specialty vehicle industries. Kentia Hall features a jaw-dropping array of products ranging from limited production cars to customized exotics and the latest in mobile electronics and accessories.
