The Golden Ticket Recycling Draw

Terms and Conditions – For Hammersmith and Fulham Council residents only

By participating, you accept these terms and conditions:

Entries and Eligibility

  1. Subject to paragraph 2 the Golden Ticket Recycling Draw (the Prize Draw) is open to participants aged 18 years or over who are able to provide reasonable proof of permanent residence in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham (Residents). Examples of proof of residence are a Council tax bill valid for current year, a current UK driving licence, a bank statement issued in the last 6 months, a utility bill (excluding mobile phone bills) issued in the last 6 months.
  1. The following are not eligible to participate in the Prize Draw:
  • Employees of Western Riverside Waste Authority (WRWA), Cory Environmental Ltd, Riverside Resource Recovery Ltd, Smart Solutions, or any of their subsidiary companies, their family members and agents.
  • Senior Officers and employees working on Recycling or Waste related projects that work for any of the London Boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham, Lambeth, Wandsworth and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and their family members.
  • Elected members of WRWA and their family members and elected members of the London Boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham, Lambeth, Wandsworth and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and their family members.
  • Employees of any Waste and Recycling Collection contractor engaged by any of the London Boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham, Lambeth, Wandsworth and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and their family members.
  1. Entry forms (Golden Tickets) will be distributed to households in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham (the Participating Borough) or can be obtained from local public librariesor downloaded from our website at
  1. The Prize Draw is free to enter to all Residents using the collection services provided by the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham for clean and dry recycling.
  1. To be eligible to be entered in the Prize Draw you must:
  • complete a Golden Ticket with your name, the Borough you live in and a contact telephone number,
  • place the completed Golden Ticket in with your clean and dry recycling materials that are listed on the recycling instructions provided by WRWA and the LondonBorough of Hammersmith and Fulham–
  • leave those recycling materials for collection outside your property (if you live in a street property) or in the communal recycling banks (if you live in a block of flats or on an estate) in accordance with the requirements of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
  1. Only one Golden Ticket per Resident will be entered in the Draw.
  1. There will be four Prizes Draws. The Draws will take place on:
  • Draw 1 - Friday, 30th October 2015
  • Draw 2 - Friday, 18th December 2015
  • Draw 3 - Friday, 12th February 2016
  • Draw 4 - Thursday, 31st March 2016
  1. Entry for Draw 1 will be open from 7th September 2015 and will close on 29th October 2015. Entry for Draw 2 will be open from 2nd November 2015 and will close on 17th December 2015. Entry for Draw 3 will be open on 21st December 2015 and will close on 11th February 2016. Entry for Draw 4 will be open from 15th February 2016 and will close on 30th March 2016. Any Golden Tickets found after the closing date for a particular draw will be entered into any subsequent prize draw run by WRWA subject to you accepting the Terms and Conditions of that prize draw. Tickets found after 30th March 2016 will not be entered into a draw.
  1. Golden Tickets will be found when random samples are taken from loads of recycling material delivered to the Materials Recycling Facility at Smugglers Way, Wandsworth. WRWA reserve the right to vary this process in order to maximise the number of tickets found for entry into the prize draw.
  1. All Golden Tickets that meet the Terms and Conditions found by WRWA prior to the particular Draws closing date will be entered into the Prize Draw and winners will be chosen by random draw supervised by an independent person on 30th October 2015, 18th December 2015, 12th February 2016 and 31st March 2016 (the Draw Dates).
  1. There will be 10 cash prizes available in Draw 1 , as follows:
  • £500 x 10 winners
  1. There will be 20 cash prizes available in Draws 2, 3 and 4 as follows:
  • £250 x 20 winners
  1. The winning Resident will be notified by telephone (using details provided on the Golden Ticket) within 5 working days of the Draw Date , and must provide reasonable proof of permanent residence in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham (in accordance with paragraph 1 above) to claim their prize. If a winning Resident does not respond to WRWA within 7 days of being notified by WRWA, then the winner's prize will be forfeited and WRWA will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above. A reserve prize winner will be selected at the time of the original draw.
  1. WRWA reserves the right to modify or withdraw this offer or amend these Terms and Conditions where it becomes necessary to do so.
  1. WRWA will not accept responsibility for Golden Tickets that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed, regardless of cause.
  1. Participating Residents are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions upon entry. WRWA reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these Terms and Conditions.
  1. In the event of any dispute regarding the Terms and Conditions, the conduct, results and any other matters relating to this Prize Draw, the decision of WRWA shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
  1. Insofar as is permitted by law and except where caused by the negligence of WRWA, its agents or employees, WRWA accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities or injury occurring as a result of participation in the Prize Draw and WRWA further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to your or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the Prize Draw.
  1. WRWA will not hold any personal data relating to this Prize Draw with the exception of the winning ticket. All tickets collected will be passed for recycling.
  1. WRWA shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control.
  1. The Prize Draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the Prize Draw submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
