Hannover, Germany.Two new,co-locatedexhibitions–The Battery Show Europe and Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Europe – are set to run at the Hannover Exhibition Center from 15 to 17 Mai 2018. The Battery Show Europeis Europe’s leading tradeshow for advanced battery production and technology, whileElectric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Europe is Europe’spremier show for eMobility engineering and innovation. Both events made their debutthis year at Sindelfingen, Germany, and starting in 2018 will runconcurrently at the Hannover Exhibition Centerannually in May.
The events’ producers at the UK-based Smarter Shows company explained their move from the southern state of Baden-Württemberg to the northern state of Lower Saxony as follows: “This event is ideally situated at the heart of Lower Saxony – a core location for the worldwide automotive industry, in the direct vicinity of companies like the world’s biggest car producer Volkswagen, automotive supplierContinental, battery manufacturerJohnson Controls, vehicle system manufacturerWABCO and construction machinery manufacturerKomatsu Hanomag. This year more than 4,000 industry professionals – among them engineers, R&D specialists, technical buyers and top executives – turned out for the premiere of the Battery Show Europe andElectric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Europe. Over the three-day event, attendees got the latest information on innovative products and new advanced technologies and solutions for battery applications along the entire supply chain. A total of 200 exhibitors, including special providers like Daimler, Paraclete Energy, Voltabox AG, CATL andHongfa, made the Battery Show Europe and Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Europe 2017 highly successful debut events.
The accompanying conferences featuredtalks by big-name industrial representatives like LG Chem, Renault, the European Commission and the PSA Group. Conference speakers offered insight into the future of hybrid and electric vehicles, speaking on the necessary measures for strengthening the European battery industry and addressing the issue of the increased growth and presence of European and Asian battery manufacturers and their influence on the industry as a whole.
The European battery industry is experiencing growth in numerous areas, especially in the leading-edge fields of eMobility, grid storage system micro-networks, renewable energy sources, mobile electronics, tools and medical technology. Running from May 2018, the Battery Show Europe will set the stage for the global battery industry, bringing together supply and demand from Asia, North America and Europe.The event creates a forumwhere fuel cell manufacturers, battery integrators, battery pack assemblers, testing equipment and service providers as well as materials suppliers and machine manufacturerscanmeet up with buyers, engineers, researchers and product developers. Exhibitors will highlight their manufacturing solutions along the completesupply chain, focusing on battery materials, production, plantequipment, components, testing and recycling – across the entire automotive, electronics, electric tool and utility sectors as well as telecommunicationsand defense.
The breadth of topics covered at Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Europeranges from cars and commercial vehicle to special-build vehicles. The focus is on electric drive solutions and components, battery management systems, materials and accessories. Leading industrial representatives, top executives, technicians and technical consulting firms as well as research and development experts take advantage of the event to inform themselves on efficiency potential, safety aspects and opportunities to cut costs in the electric and hybrid vehicle industry.
