Current Vacancy

Interim Executive Chairman (IEC) of the Considerate Constructors Scheme

The Company

Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), was founded in 1997 as a non-profit making, independent organisation working to improve the image of construction.

Construction sites, companies and suppliers of all types and size and for every type of construction activity voluntarily register with the Scheme and agree to abide by its Code of Considerate Practice, designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements. The Code of Considerate Practice commits sites to care about appearance, respect the community, protect the environment, secure everyone's safety and value their workforce.

The Scheme has great support from government and the construction industry with all of the top companies listed under its member and partner portfolio. The Scheme is proud to be partnered with a number of charities to raise awareness and promote their services. For more information about the Scheme click here .

The Role

The Scheme has reached a point where it is ready to take the brand to the next level and capitalise on its leadership role. Our vision is to make registration essential for every construction site, large or small, to ensure continual improvement in performance leading to a step change in the image and attractiveness of construction as a sector.

The IEC role is to lead the strategic and operational development of the CCS. This will involve developing the scheme so it represents and enhances the positive image of construction. On a day to day basis the scheme must deliver excellent value for money, support and services to the companies and trade associations in the construction industry. Key to achieving this is to ensure the CCS is highly respected across the industry and has credibility and influence with all those that it needs to engage with on behalf of its members.
