Board Meeting notes January 2014

 Moved all the servals to new enclosure. 01/12/14

 Shazam food change to all grinded 01/13/14

 Kibo, Shira and Jax food change to ½ lb grinded and ½ lb grinded chicken 01/13/14

 Got 3 new cougars, Riddick, Rogue and Raven. 01/14/15.

  • Riddick 3lbs reg, Rogue and Raven 2lbs reg
  • Each started on 1 scp Cosequin 01/15
  • Rogue food change to 1 1/2lbs
  • Food change 01/18 Riddick 5lbs, Rogue and Raven 3lbs.
  • Food change 01/21 RD 4lbs, RG and RV 1 1/2lbs

 Luna food change to ¾ Chicken deboned 01/14/14

 Got Kshama urine – was really brown 01/15/14

  • Got it again 01/16/14 looked better – Tested NEGATIVE for CDV.. yaaaay
  • Done with distemper meds on 01/24/14
  • Still on vitamin A&D, 10 pills 2xD.

 Dr Wallis out on 01/17/15 to check out Riddick, Rogue, Raven and Lydia.

  • Riddick – looked at skin and front legs.
  • Rogue and Raven look ok
  • Lydia – looking at her due to her having seizures, needed to get blood to check kidney values to see if we can start her on Phenobarbital for the seizures if need to. knocked her out, got lots of blood, did visual inspection of whole body, got urine sample. Tested positive for CDV.

 Luna started on 125 mg clavamox 2xdaily for not eating, being real quiet, just doesn’t look like she feels good. Has had issues with her teeth in the past which the clavamox seemed to have helped in the past.

  • She was given one dose on 01/17/14 in PM but stopped
  • Started back on meds again at 01/24 – 02/02

 Gideon had a seizure 01/21/14. First one that we know of in about a year.

  • Got his blood in November and his phenol level was 12
  • Upped his Phenobarbital dosage to 7cc’s in AM and 6cc’s in PM, started after the seizure.
  • Got blood to test pheno level’s, 01/22/14 and level was 16.
  • Had another seizure 02/04/14, 30 minutes after getting his AM Phenobarbital. Need to get blood again ASAP.

 Gideon has been coming up with more and more bald spots for a couple of months now, and seems to have gotten worse (new bald spots by the day). We are pretty certain the bald spots are from Jasper biting on Gideon and Gideon rolling over during the bite causing Jasper to get a mouth full of hair. Not certain that Gideon is having a seizure (or just had one which might provoke Jasper to bite on him) or why Jasper is doing this to him. Chuck recommended we get a recording camera in there to know for sure.

 Moved Riddick, Rogue and Raven from lower CP to Taj. 01/28/14

  • First Raven was moved to SS/SH pg and RD & RG moved to Charley and Buttons PG.
  • Then all three together in SS/SH pg 01/29/14

 Tyjar started chemo treatment pills. 01/28/14. 2 pills 01/28 and 1 each on 01/29 & 01/30

 Nefi hurt her front R leg, barely using it and not walking on it. 01/28/14

  • Chuck came out next day on 01/29 to look at Nefi. Doesn’t look broken possible fracture and bad sprain, no meds advised.

 Kshama urine in AM looked ok, got more urine after feeding and it was bloody. 01/29/14

  • Got another sample the next morning, it was brown but not as bloody. 01/30/14

 Charley food change, up ½ lb to 3lbs reg

 Jasper to vet 01/30/14 for not eating.

  • Got blood, got urine and fecal samples. Took x-rays, palpated stomach, checked teeth and claws. Has a UTI and crystals in bladder probably from eating too much canned cat food. Gave him a shot of convenia – antibiotic.
  • Took him off of canned food and started him on cooked ground beef / regular w/1 scp cosequin.

 Charley & Buttons and Lassiters group put together for several hours. 01/30/14

  • All let together again all day and night on 01/31/14 and have been together since.

 Aurora food change to 2lbs reg and 2 small treats. 01/31/14

 Kshama started on Amoxicillin, 7 2xdaily, 02/01 – 02/10 for an infection detected in urine.

 Moved Brats back to TC. 02/03/14

  • Knocked Kaiya out to move her, got blood.

 Got 7 Van cats 02/04/14. 7 cats in 3 hours, didn’t have to knock anyone out. Brought home Bonnie, Cincinnati, Sweet Thang, Chicken, Psycho, Tiny and Mystery.

  • Everyone got 7lbs of food each and 3 treats
  • Everyone except Mystery, Sweet Thang and Psycho – get 2 Benadryl 2xdaily for skin from 01/14 – 02/14

 Got last 3 Van cats 02/05/14. Big Boy, Psycho 2, Tina.

  • Knocked out only Psycho 2. Got blood.
  • All started on 7lbs reg and 3 treats each.
