NEW BUSINESS
1. Discussion and possible action
Minutes of the January 28, 2016 TAC meeting – Two minor corrections were made to the minutes. A motion was then made by Joyce Stevens to approve the minutes, the motion was second by Helen. Minutes approved.
2. New Business
Financial Statement & Operations Handout
- Our Maintenance for the year is over budget. We had several issues within the last three to four months with both of our fixed route buses. Laurie’s salary is over budget as well due to spending more time on the grant than originally thought. Overall for the year though it looks like we are going to be under budget for the grant.
New buses to arrive
- Our new buses are due to arrive this Friday. These buses will replace the two fixed route buses. Buses will also not require a CDL license, so the next time we are looking for drivers we hope to get a better response. The old buses will be used for backup. Plan to purchase a new Dial-A-Ride bus this upcoming grant period.
Final budget for ADOT
- Our 1st year budget has been uploaded into e-grants.
MEMBER COMMENTS
John talked about the feasibility study for potential new city bus routes linking Douglas, Bisbee, Sierra Vista and Benson. He distributed a flyer with information about the study and upcoming community workshops. Please spread the word to the community.
Joyce mentioned the bus stop on Ocotillo and 4th need to be looked at. She feels it is an unsafe stop for senior. There is an incline and the gravel makes it difficult for people with canes, walkers and wheel chairs to navigate to the sidewalk to get to Safeway.
Jessica mentioned mobility devices (Wheelchairs, walkers, etc) are available for no cost. If interested let Jessica know. Training will need to be done before receiving devices.
