The Minnesota United snowmobilers Association (MnUSA) is proud to present their 2015 Scholarship Program --Scholarship(s) up to $3,000.00 to graduating high school seniors planning to pursue further education in an accredited two or four-year institution of higher learning or accredited vocational school and/or individuals currently enrolled in such a program. Funds for the scholarship program are made possible due to the efforts of the MnUSA Fundraising Committee and those who support their fundraising programs.

Applicant must be a member in good standing of MnUSA for the past three years –if under 18 years of age or still in high school, this will include membership as a son, daughter, or legal ward of a family having a current membership in MnUSA. The applicant is further required to have passed the Minnesota Snowmobile Safety Course and have a Snowmobile Safety Certificate.

The completed application (ink or typewritten), along with the Student Activity Profile, two letters of recommendation(one relating to your snowmobiling/club involvement and the other relating to school or community)and a 500 word typewritten essay composed by the applicant must be received in the MnUSA Office no later than March 31, 2015. The required essay topic is: If you were the President or Trail Coordinator of a club, whether it is responsible to maintain trails or not, what would you to do help promote participation from your club and members to help out with trail maintenance either for your club or other club trails?

The MnUSA Charity & Awards Committee will judge all applications and determine the qualified recipients. Applications will be judged 50% on their essay (content, ability to stay on topic, neatness, accurate spelling, correct grammar, etc), club/snowmobiling (30%) and school and community involvement (20%). Your name should be included on all pages returned. Applicants may be interviewed. All decisions of the committee are final.

Certification of this scholarship will be awarded in conjunction with applicant’s high school graduation or college/vocational school enrollment, and the actual monies will be deposited with the school of the chosen enrollment to assist in offsetting the cost of furthering the applicant’s education.
