Local Children Apply STEM and Robotics
With the FIRST ® LEGO® League Challenge
-FREE Family Fun Event: Support Local Students-
FIRST LEGO League Championship Tournament
Lower Mainland Area children, ages 9 to 14 are among 250,000children around the world who have risen to the2017-18 FIRST® LEGO® LeagueHydroDynamics Challenge. To successfully complete the Challenge, teams of young people must build and program a LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robot to complete missions on a thematic playing surface, and conduct research to discover how we find, use, transport or dispose of water. Through hands-on experience and working in teams, children have a chance to explore a real-world issue to gain an appreciation for and interest in science and technology.
WHAT:200 local Lower Mainland children on over 20 teams go head to head, putting 12 weeks of research, design, and programming to the test in a regional Championship Tournament to win honors, recognition and have FUN.
WHEN: December 3, 2017 9:30 to 4:30
(Opening Ceremony at 9:00am)
