ENGLISH 90 ASSESSMENT EXAM PACKET

1. Read packet thoroughly, including instructions and rubric.

2. Read each student sample essay and write a reflection/extended paragraph for each student sample essay. Why is the “6” a “6, ” Why is the “5” a”5”? and so forth.

3. Read and grade your essay.

4. Write a reflection/extended paragraph about your essay.

Part A: Why is it a “6,” “5,” “4” or “3”?

Part B:

I. Analyze how you were you feeling while you were reading the essay and writing your essay.

II. Describe your thought process and your writing process.

III. Did you prepare an outline?
IV. Were you able stay focused?
V. Did you proofread?
III. What could you have done better?
IV. What will you do to prepare for the exam?

Bring your graded in class essay, the English 90 Assessment Essay Packet and written responses to student sample essays and the reflection on your in-class essay on Wednesday, Nov. 9à a class discussion will be held.

Be prepared to present your findings.
