Hammer CSBT Rules
1. Eligibility: All tournaments are open to all USBC members. The only exception to this rule will be the CSBT Hammer Championships. This event will be open to only bowlers who have qualified for the event by participating in a minimum of 3 regular season events.
2. Entries: Entry fee will be $90 for each main event in the Open division and $45 for the Classified division. The entry fee will be $35 for all bowlers participating in the sweepers. Entries can be mailed to: CSBT, 19050 E Chenango Cir, Aurora, CO 80015. Walk ins are accepted. A $30 service fee will be charged for any returned check. Check in will open at least 1 hr prior to the event. Bowlers not in the check-in line at least 15 minutes before the posted practice time risk missing all or part of practice. Any competition frames missed will be forfeited and scored as zero.
3. CSBT Hammer Championships: A portion of every entry from all open entries in the main events will be set aside for the CSBT Championships. A bowler must bowl in at least 3 of the regular season events to be eligible for this event. If a bowler bowls 5 or more main events the entry fee for this event will be $125. If a bowler has bowled 4 main events the entry fee will be $200. If a bowler has bowled 3 main events the entry is $275. Bowlers that do bowl in at least 3 CSBT main events during the season will not be eligible to compete in the Championships
4. Equipment: Each bowler is responsible for their equipment. All equipment must meet USBC specifications. If a ball that is used in CSBT competition does not meet USBC specifications that bowler may be disqualified. If you have any questions about equipment you can visit bowl.com and see the approved and equipment/ball list.
5. Lane Assignments: Bowlers will be assigned lanes as they check in. REQUESTS TO BOWL TOGETHER CANNOT be accommodated.
6. Practice: Bowlers will receive 10 minutes of practice on their starting pair prior to the qualifying round. Bowlers will receive 5 minutes of practice prior to the semi final round. Step ladder finals. A warm up lane will be available for bowlers who are waiting to bowl in the step ladders. Bowlers will receive 4 total balls that can be used on the competition pair prior to their first match in the step ladder finals. Bowlers may choose to throw all 4 shots on one lane or distribute the 4 shots between the 2 lanes.
7. Bowling on the Wrong Lane: If a bowler bowls on the wrong lane and DOES NOT get a strike they will finish the frame and the score will count. If they do roll a strike the score will be erased and the bowler will re-bowl on the correct lane. This applies only to the last frame bowled before the error was noticed. Example if a bowler starts a game on the wrong pair and bowls 2 frames before the mistake is noticed the 1st frame will stand as bowled and the above rule would be applied to the second frame.
8. Qualifying Round: Bowlers will bowl 6 games. After 6 games the field will be cut to the cashers based on total scratch pins. The cut will be 1:4 from the open division plus one additional senior (50+) or female bowler that was closest to the cut without making it (min 4 total senior/female entries) plus the top finisher in the Classified division. In the event of a tie a one game roll off will be used to break the tie. No practice will be allowed on the completion pair before this roll off. Bowlers will be allowed to “warm up” on an alternate pair if they need to.
9. Semi Final Round: Various formats will be used in the semi-final rounds. Ties in the semi-final round will be decided with a 9th and 10th frame roll off.
10. Step Ladder Finals: The top 5 bowlers will bowl a step ladder format. The higher seed in each match will choose who starts the match on the left lane. In the event of a tie a 9th and 10th frame roll off will be used to determine the winner. No practice will be allowed before this roll off.
11. Dress Code: Bowlers are required to wear slacks or jeans and a collared shirt or a mock collar bowling style shirt. Shorts, head gear and ripped or torn clothing will not be allowed. We reserve the right to make all final decisions on the dress code. Bowlers wearing High 5 CSBT shirts will earn bonus points that can be used via the redemption program.
12. Additional Rules: USBC rules and regulations will apply in all instances not specifically covered in the above rules.
13. Tournament Director: The director will make rulings on all disputes and rules not covered. All decisions of the director will be final. We reserve the right to modify or change these rules at any time.
