The Withcott Church of Christ is seeking a Senior Pastor

with specific spiritual gifts, skills and abilities

The five essential elements of our selection criteria are that this person will be:

1Visionary: A visionary and strategic thinker able to discern God's willfor both the church and its outreach activities.

  • With God’s guidance and together with the church leadership, turn the vison of the church into reality and sustain it in the church.

2A Team Leader: With a proven ability to lead and develop a team of staff and volunteers.

  • Motivate and support people in discovering and using their gifts for ministry and also provide opportunities for individuals and groups within the church to understand and enhance the spiritual dimensions of their lives.
  • Included in this activity will be the seeking and calling for potential leaders, providing opportunities for their training and growth.

3A Preacher/Teacher: Who is deeply committed to the Bible and who is able to teach in a way that equips believers to live out their faith in the world?

  • Encourage the church community to grow in strength, faith, knowledge and love for the Lord, reflected in words, deeds and actions of love as Jesus showed to all people.
  • Effectively communicate a comprehensive understanding of the Bible and Christian theology so that members of the church family may grow in their faith and their love for the Lord.

4An Equipper: capable of leading by example in order to equip, encourage and inspire other leaders in the church.

  • As Senior Pastor you are expected to maintain good relationships with, and take a caring interest in the lives of all members of the church congregation. Primarily however you will be working closely with the church leadership team, ministry coordinators and the church administrator.
  • You will also be expected to maintain good relationships with community leaders, leaders of other churches and members of the community.

5Missional: Committed to doing God's will in the world through His Church, and in promoting His Son Jesus Christ as the Saviour to all people, locally, nationally and internationally.

  • With the appropriate leaders of the church, seek to identify and evaluate the social needs of the local community and work to meet those needs through individual and corporate actions

Expressions of interest are invited for the Senior Pastor position at Withcott Church of Christ.

Applications will close on 28th February 2017, and the Leadership team envisages that the position will commence in early January.

This is a full-time position, and remuneration will be in accordance with Churches of Christ Qld award rates.
