HIGH SCHOOL CATEGORIES EXPLAINED

PARTICIPANTSThe high school races are for all racers who are also attending public or private high school (grades 9-12). Sorry but home-school studentsmay not compete without the express, prior, written consent of the league director:

TEAMSTeams in the high school categories must be comprised of students from the same high school. Districts may compose composite teams representing all high schools in their district. High school teams are encouraged to wear some sort of uniform jersey or T-shirt designating their high school but this is not a requirement. There is no minimum or maximum requirement for the number of racers from one high school however all racers must attend high school at that school or in that district. Teams do not need to obtain an 'official status' at their school.

HIGH SCHOOL TEAM SCORINGTrophies/medals will be awarded to the top three overall high school teams. Teams are placed based on combined point totals for the high school races.

POINT SYSTEMPoints are awarded for the top 20 finishers in category “A” and the top 15 finishers in category “B” If there is only one category then the points schedule follows that of category “A.” Women will be scored separately and points will go to the top 15 finishers. Points will also be awarded on Prime laps. If you DNF (did not finish), you will not be awarded any points for that race.

CATEGORIES:

A: High School students who are experienced racers and/or a category 3 or higher on the road.

B: High School students with limited to no racing experience and/or who are category 4 or 5 on the road.

Team Time Trial: Teams consist of a minimum of 2 racers from the same school and a maximum of 3. The time for the team is taken from the wheel of the second rider across the line. Only one team from each school will score points.
