An Evening of Tying and Chatting
For our January meeting we will be working on quilts that will be donated to various needs in our own community.
Members can bring supplies for tying quilts (scissors, needles and thread).
Plan to spend an evening where you can reach out to others in need. Also it’s a great time to get to know your fellow quilters better.

A Note from the President
Being nominated to the presidency of the Miami Valley Quilters’ Guild is a privilege and an honor. We have been blessed with many fine presidents, officers, committee chairs and members who have brought enthusiasm to our organization, and I am grateful to follow in their footsteps.
When I took an introduction to quilting class in the Kettering Adult Education program in 1990, I had no idea how much joy and challenge I would find in this creative hobby that has enriched my life. I also had no idea how many interesting and helpful quilting friends I would meet through quilting classes and through the MVQG which I joined shortly after finishing my first small quilt.
Now we start a whole new year with resolutions to learn more techniques, buy more fabric, start more quilting projects and finish unfinished ones. Thank you to all of you for making the Miami Valley a great place in which to be a quilter. And thank you also for helping make the MVQG a vibrant environment where we can share our skills, encourage one another, and demonstrate our talents with pride.
I just went to see the Quilts of Gee’s Bend at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. It is inspiring to see what these quilters created in conditions we can’t imagine, and they did it for the love of quilting.
Ron Lundquist
President Elect

Thank You
I wanted to thank Linda Adams who arranged the Spotlite Productions to perform at our holiday potluck meeting. They were fantastic!
I also wanted to thank Lynn Hunger for all her years of volunteering. I know she has been the Librarian, Block of the Month chairperson, active in community service and President to name only a few. I wish her well and know she is getting a lot of sewing done.
I would also like to thank Ron Lundquist for volunteering to be the next President. He’ll do a great job. We will have an official vote in January.
I would finally like to thank the Nominating Committee and all of you who emailed and phoned with answers to all my questions. We do have a great bunch of people in this guild and I appreciate all of you.
The Spotlite Kidz range in age from 6 to 18 and are not from any one school. They very much enjoy performing on stage. If any one would like to hire them in the future for other organizations please call Linda Adams at 879-4692 for more information.
