Halloween Skating: There were 185 in attendance. This was the first time the PTO hired face painters. All went very well.
Fall Fundraiser:Liz Rottinger reported that our total profit was low this year. Joe Corbi’s percentages are lower, so we made under 37% profit. Ruth is going to discuss this with the Joe Corbi’s rep. Delivery is November 12th around 2:00pm with pick up from 3:00 to 7:00pm in the Pearson Gym Foyer. The 2 top winners were Kelvia Williams and Rowan Carcanque. Daydreams:A flyer will come home for the schools to receive 15% of sales for 3 days, 20% if sales go over $1,500. This is a good way to support a local business. Motion by Kate Teal; second by Kathy Haines.
Auction:Liz Rottinger explained the Holiday Auction is like a Chinese auction; the classes are asked to donate specific items. Local businesses donate. Liz asked if people could take donation letters to the local businesses. The Auction is on December 6th at 6:00pm, tickets are $5.00 to get in, and we begin calling numbers at 7:30. Ticket forms will be coming home next week. We usually sell out. The PTO does baskets of candles, flags, men items, cheer. Baskets will be assembled December 3rd at 6:00pm in the Pearson All Purpose Room. Pizza or other dinner is provided to the volunteers. Each ticket holder receives a treat bag. The room reps are asked to bake homemade cookies. Each class must provide 22 bags of 3 cookies each, which are due December 5th at drop off. Business donations are due by December 3rd. The top 3 classes with the largest participation percentage for basket donations will get a McDonalds party. Room reps must send out reminder notices to send donations in before Thanksgiving. New, unused items and re-gifts can be donated. Anyone who crafts or has a business can donate. The Auction is our biggest fundraiser of the year, bringing in approximately $10,000.
Breakfast with Santa:Santa has been scheduled; crafts and coloring books have been ordered. We will be setting up on December 13th at 6:00pm and December 14th beginning at 7:00am.
Lil’ Shoppers’ Shop:Set up will begin on December 13th at 2:30pm in the Pearson conference room.
Yearbooks:Anyone can log into the website to upload photos. The website can be difficult. It will only upload 5 photos at a time, and will time out if you walk away. Photos from late Spring of last school year can be included in this yearbook.
Family Fun Week:We are looking at a bowling night at Burlington Bowl, which will be $8.00 per person which will include 2 hours of bowling, shoes, pizza and soda. Ruth is confirming Sunday, January 26th, 4:00-6:30pm. Also, a Chick-fil-a Spirit Night will be held January 22nd. Ruth is trying to schedule Eric Dasher to do a family game show at WSS.
Trenton Thunder:They contacted Ruth and would like to sell us tickets for $7.00 to $8.00, instead of the regular $11.00, which includes free parking, kids eat free, $1.00 hot dogs for adults, and the kids can go out on the field and sing. Tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, April 22nd, over Spring Break.
8th Grade Fundraiser:The 8th grade is selling candles to raise money for their class trip.
OTHER BUSINESS
Ram’s Booster:Scrapbooking is scheduled for February 8th. The RHS Band came in second in Nationals. Mr. Mount deserves a lot of the credit for the Delanco students in the RHS band. Someone asked if it has been considered having WSS Band during the school day instead of before school, and Mrs. Behnke advised that has not been discussed, but there really is not a good time to schedule it during the school day, and it helps Mr. Mount to recruit the committed students.
Mrs. Behnke:Mrs. Behnke advised that the school tries to help families in need during the holidays, but one of the local businesses is not donating this year. Allison Donnelly organizes this effort. Each family receives everything they need for Christmas. She is looking for donations. Sherry Layman advised that Simon & Shuster has chosen a Delanco family to donate a Christmas. Mrs. Behnke also advised that the canned food drive is starting soon, which includes bringing 2 cans to the Auction for 10 free tickets. And the school is also participating in Toys for Tots this year.
Refreshments:Thank you to the PTO for providing the refreshments for tonight’s meeting.
