Hello to Everyone,
I wanted to get information to you as soon as possible regarding this year’s Fall Conference at the Lake. The conference is scheduled for Thursday, September 23, and Friday, September 24, 2010, at the Lodge of the Four Seasons at the Lake of the Ozarks.
The conference schedule this year will be similar to last year’s schedule. We will not have a check-in and social on Wednesday evening, but will instead begin with a check-in and breakfast on Thursday morning. The conference will extend throughout the day and into the early evening on Thursday and conclude early Friday afternoon. Thursday’s activities will include presentations and sharing sessions of general and specific interest for all members and include a happy hour social in the early evening. Thursday evening’s dinner will be on your own. Friday morning will continue witha presentation and short working session and concludeby approximately 1:00 p.m.
If there is enough interest, Terri Jamison from Raymore-Peculiarhas agreed to help organize a golf outing activity for Friday and/or Saturday, for those who will be staying for the weekend. If you are interested and/or willing to help Terri, please contact her at . Players of all abilities are invited to participate in the golf outing.
As in the past, you are required to make room reservations at the Lodge of the Four Seasons on your own. The conference room rates for this year are $125 for single or double occupancy. There are additional incidental service fees per room per night, plus state and county taxes. The Lodge has blocked 55 rooms for our group until August 23, 2010. If you are planning to attend the conference, be sure to make your reservation early. In the past, conference participants who waited too late to make reservations had to stay at other facilities in the Lake area. Please call the Lodge at 1-800-THE-LAKE (843-5253) and identify yourself as a Missouri AASPA-AAEE conference participant.
If you are retiring at the end of this year or leaving your current position after this year, please transfer this informationto your successor. If you are new to your position, this conference is essential to your success. Conference participants are the professionals on both sides of the hiring process that will provide you with advice and support in your work as a personnel administrator or career services officer. These conferences are always very beneficial for all. I hope you will be able to join us.
A registration form is also attached to this email. You may register immediately; however, all registrations will be due by August 27, 2010. If you have any questions or need any additional information please let me know.
Thanks,
Connie Paul
