USSBA Marine Corp Invitational
U.S. Naval Academy – Marine Corp Memorial Stadium, Annapolis, MD
q Eat breakfast, bring a bag lunch and a pocket snack(s).
q Bring money for supper – at the stadium’s concession stand.
NOTE: You will not be able to change into street clothes after the show.
9:15am Arrive at school – get into rehearsal uniform (black shoes/socks, bibs, band shirt, gloves and stadium jacket). Put your street clothes in your garment bag. Garment bags will be loaded with performance jacket, hat, and plume. DON’T PACK YOUR LUNCH IN THE GARMENT BAG!
9:45am Bring all walls, screens, etc. from the container to the stadium. Roll garment racks to the stadium.
10:15am Rehearsal in the stadium.
Large instruments take your cases to the field. Immediately after rehearsal we will stage the instruments, props, stuff, and percussion for loading.
12:00pm Truck/Pit parents arrive.
Set up trick/trailer for loading. Familiarize with load plan. Kids will take garment bags on the bus.
12:15pm Eat early lunch (You brought it, right?)
12:45pm Load all equipment, Gator, instruments. Once fully loaded, vehicles are welcome to depart.
We will travel wearing stadium jacket, bib pants, band shirt, and black shoes/socks.
1:45pm Chaperone parents arrive, Buses arrive.
Garment racks should be checked to make sure all band members have taken their bag.
2:00pm Meeting and last call…
2:15pm Load & Depart for Annapolis (Three buses this time)
4:15pm Arrive at Annapolis / Naval Academy /Marine Corps Memorial Stadium
Unload, set-up, get dressed, warm-up, and move to the on deck location.
6:20pm PERFORMANCE
We will return to the buses/truck to put away all our stuff and take off jackets. Stadium jackets or the band shirt must be your outer wear at all times (so we can more easily identify you at a distance). DMs, Percussion, and Guard Captains need to have their uniforms (wear it or carry it in a bag and go change) for awards.
The equipment vehicles may leave any time once loaded. Be at PFHS for unloading at 10:15pm
7:30pm Return to the stadium as a group and sit together. Once we’ve all seen one band show together you will be dismissed to visit concessions for early supper.
8:00pm Meet back in our seats to cheer on James Madison HS from Vienna – GO MIKE NIEBERGALL!
8:45pm Awards – Everyone back in their seats! (DMs, Percussion, and Guard Captains)
After awards we will return to the buses while Mr. N and the staff go to judge’s critique.
9:45pm Pull out for PFHS (earlier/later depending on when the staff returns and we’re all loaded)
11:30pm Approximate arrival at PFHS
Put away equipment, instruments and uniforms, brief meeting, dismissal.

For those coming out to support the performance, admission is $24 at the gate. Mr. Niebergall has advance tickets that can be purchased directly from the PFHS Band. By purchasing from us, we get to keep a few dollars for every ticket we sell. By purchasing tickets we can keep the entry fees down so please consider simply buying a ticket as a way of donating to the event even if you can’t go.
