BPIA End User Quick Reference

Introduction

Your company has identified you as a person that will need to access HP resources. In order to do this, you will be issued a BPIA digital certificate by a BPIA Approver from your company whichbelongs to Hewlett PackardHP, Inc. . This certificate remains the property of Hewlett PackardHP, Inc. and will allow you to access intellectual property belonging to Hewlett PackardHP, Inc. . You must treat this information as confidential according to the GLOBAL DATA SECURITY ICMA agreement signed by your company and HP. Your BPIA Approver can provide you with details of this agreement.

We recommend that you note who your approver is so you can reference this name for renewal of the BPIA certificate when your renewal message comes in to your mailbox (your certificate will expire every 6 months). It is important when enrolling for your certificate that you use only an approved Internet browser (IE or Firefox) and not Chrome or Safari.

BPIA User Enrollment

Enrollment for your BPIA certificate will follow these steps:

1)You will receive an e-mail from with instructions on how to enrolland download your certificate. This message will contain the “A” password. The “B” password will be sent to your phone extension by the BPIA system or you can contact your Approver for the “B” password.

2)Click on the link in the e-mail you received from BPIA.

3)Choose delivery method of your “B” password. If your Approver has given you the “B” password, click Manual.Otherwise click Automated.For manual delivery, proceed to Step 5.

4)Automated option only:

  1. Verify that you are currently at the phone number displayed and select Yes.
  2. If you are able to receive a phone call at the number displayed, select Yes and click Continue.
  3. You will receive a call from Authentify. Follow the instructions.

5)Complete the form, entering the “A” and “B” passwords, your e-mail address and type “I Agree” in the requiredfields. It is important that you type “I Agree” exactly as requested otherwise the certificate installation will fail.

6)The system will install the certificate on your PC. Please click Yes to install the certificate.

7)Lastly you will have to set a BPIA password. This password is used on a number of applications. The password is not stored in the certificate but stored in the HP BPIA system.The password rules are as follows:

  1. Password must be 12 - 20 characters
  2. At least one of the following;
  3. 1 UPPER CASE (LARGE) LETTER
  4. 1 lower case (small) letter
  5. 1 number
  6. NO special characters are allowed.

BPIA User Functions

User functions are performed on the BPIA Business Partner Operations web site.

This URL is mainly used to change your BPIA password.

Note: Only you can change the BPIA password, and you do not need to remember the old password in order to do this.

To change your BPIA Password:

1)Click Edit/Create my profile

2)Enter/Re-enter your new password (follow the password rules described earlier)

3)Click Submit the above data to save your changes

You can only get support on BPIA from your company Approver.
