GCHA Monthly Association Meeting Minutes – October 2017
President’s Report:
-Next month, we are going to try to have the meeting on Wednesday, November 8th – we are just waiting for final confirmation to make sure no one else is using the room and then we’ll move the meetings to Wednesday going forward
-We did get approval for the Try Hockey for Free, it will be on November 4th during the Novice Ice time (novice players are welcome to participate)
-We are looking for coaching volunteers, parents to help participants get dressed, we have requested for volunteers from Khols but have not heard back yet.
-November 1st is the deadine for the district – make sure the coaches know and have their teams registered (should have gotten an email from Doug with all the link needed)
-Novice is going well – 42 players and a couple more calls pending
Vice President’s Report
-Association pictures will be on November 18th, at the team’s respective ice times, except 6U team will take their pictures during the 8U ice, because they have a game. There were several scheduling conflicts with coaches, and players not being present and October just wouldn’t work
-Little Caesar’s Pizza kits – will be getting the packets to pass out on Saturday, dates will start October 28th and will end November 18th with delivery on December 9th – delivery time is pending
-LCA fundraising, all managers are being emailed regarding upcoming trainings and a sign up genius is now being used to sign up for trainings. At this time, getting additional trainings in will be difficult due to the number of events happening at LCA – will forward that information as the dates are available. We have heard that the trainings are not lasting the full scheduled 3 hours.
-We currently have only six trained volunteers, including the ones we’re sharing with other associations
Treasurer’s Report
-Review of provided financial statement
Secretary’s Report
-Nothing new to add, just a reminder that if anything needs to go out to the entire association just let Danielle know. The Mail Chimp listing has been updated to the current list of association members.
Registrar Report
-All teams have been rostered
-Some changes with moving kids from team to team
-Still missing a few birth certificates
Ace Director
-Warm up order is going in tomorrow
-On ice practice changes
New Business
-Discussion about jerseys
-Setting a price for registration plus the price of the jersey’s
-Will take 6-8 weeks on the initial order
-Using solid socks
-Discussed allowing businesses to sponsor jersey’s, name plate would go across the bottom of the jersey

-Compressors are having a hard time keeping up and keeping the ice frozen, they are doing everything they possibly can
-Locker room situation – call Toni or Jeff if there are issues with the Ford League and the locker room activities going on.
