A case vide FIR NO 56/13 u/s 420,406,506,120B IPC PS EOW was registered on the complaint of Sh Palvinder Singh Rakhara, a prominent Distributor of Air Conditioners of branded companies such as Daikin, Samsung etc. It was alleged that in March 2012, one Mohit Wadhawa of M/s Merrific Sales approached him at his shop and represented himself as a big businessman with connections and having bulk orders from various Housing Projects undertaken by reputed housing companies. He convinced the complainant to give goods on 7 days credit basis (PDCs). He gave many orders and issued cheques(PDCs).Initially the cheques were cleared but later on cheques worth Rs 32 lac bounced. Initially Mohit Wadhawa gave various excuses for non payment but later on he changed his mobile number , refused all meetings with the complainant and changed his address. Sh Palvinder Singh Rakhara discovered that several other shopkeepers were also cheated by the accused using the same Modus Operandi for an amount of over Rs 2 crores. Over a period of time 18 more complaints were received in EOW from other Distributors of Air-Conditioners, Mobile phones, Generators, TVs, Home Appliances, Electronic Goods etc. located in Delhi and NCR against the accused Mohit Wadhwa.
Profile of accused:- Arrested accused Mohit Wadhwa (32) s/o Naveen Kumar Wadhwa r/o 14/6 West Patel Nagar is a school drop out. He left school after class Xth and initially joined his father’s business. An urbane and suave Mohit has a flair of convincing people and could converse impressively in both English and Hindi. About 3 year back he started his business under the name and style of M/s Merrific Sales and M/s Solution point.com where he was actively involved in sale/purchase of electronics items. Initially he bagged a few orders from the Hotel Industry but as the profits nosedived he found it much easier to make money by coning people.
Modus operandi:- Accused Mohit used his gift of the gab to the hilt to dupe Distributors. He used to represent himself as a big supplier of electronics items, other home appliances to the hotel industry and big housing projects undertaken by reputed housing companies. Initially, to win the trust of the dealers / distributors he used to place small orders on credit payment basis and ensured that the post dated cheques were timely honored. Once he won the trust of the victims he used to place larger orders, make part payment and then abscond. All the post dated cheques issued subsequently for balance payments bounced. Then he used to sell the goods so obtained from the victims in the open market at a much lesser costs and misappropriate the funds. Using the same modus operandi he cheated more than 18 such dealers in Delhi and Ghaziabad of over Rupees two crores.
Previous involvements:- He has earlier been arrested in similar cases of 138 NI ACT in 2011 and got bail from High Court. He has also been arrested in Case FIR No 89 dt 4.2.2013 u/s 420,406,506, 120B IPC PS Sihani Gate, Distt Ghaziabad. Besides a number of cases u/s 138 NI ACT are also pending against the accused in various courts in Delhi.
The accused is now in police custody remand and further investigation is in progress.

GANG OF LAPTOP THIEVES BUSTED
Three thieves arrested by the staff of P.S. Subhash Place namely Krishan S/o Sh. Sunil R/o A-608, Mangolpuri, Delhi, Vikash @ Laxman S/o Sh. Ram Dhani R/o E-132 Jhuggi, Patharwala Bagh, J. J. Colony Wazirpur, Delhi and Mohd. Ijaj S/o Mohd. Ijhar R/o Rampura, P.S. Keshav Puram Delhi and recovered two laptops.
INCIDENT
On 3.4.13, one Akhilesh Sharma reported at Police Station Subhash Place regarding theft of his Laptop. In his statement, he alleged that at about 9.45 AM when he boarded a bus from Britannia Chowk to NSP Complex, he sensed that someone has opened his Laptop Bag Zip when the bus stops near Wazirpur Depot Bus Stop, on which he watched in the bus and noticed a person giving his laptop to another one. On seeing this, he raised alarm and both the persons de-boarded the bus & ran away. In the meantime, the doors of the bus got closed and the bus stopped a little far from the bus stop. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 134/13 U/s 379/34 IPC PS Subhash Place was registered and investigation was taken up.
INVESTIGATION & INTERROGATION
During the course of Investigation, search of the accused was made but no clue found. Looking at the gravity of the case & increasing incident of Laptops theft in the jurisdiction of Police Station, a team consisting of SI Vikas, ASI Sushil Kumar, HC Suresh, Ct. Sher Singh, Ct. Sunit was constituted under the leadership of Inspr. Pankaj Malik, SHO/Subhash Place and overall supervision of Sh. Ashish Anan, ACP/Saraswati Vihar to catch the offenders.
Informers were activated and a secret information was received that one person who belongs to the gang of laptop thieves is coming to Mongolpuri L-Block on a Yamaha Fazer m/cycle with a laptop for giving it to their gang member Yameen (Receiver). On this information, raid was conducted and on the pointing of the informer, a person namely Krishan S/o Sh. Sunil R/o A-608, Mangolpuri, Delhi was apprehended by the team and one laptop was recovered from his possession. During interrogation, the recovered laptop was found stolen in case FIR No. 134/13 PS Subhash Place. Accordingly, the accused was duly arrested and he disclosed during interrogation that he works with this gang & can get arrest other members of the gang. He further disclosed that two of the gang members are in the Jhuggis of Wazirpur JJ colony. On this raid was conducted and two members of the gang got arrested from whom one laptop & two mobile phones were recovered. All the accused persons disclosed that they stole laptops from buses and gave them to their associate who used to ride on a M/cycle behind the bus. The co-associate, who rides the m/cycle behind the bus, took the Laptops from them & gave it to their associate namely Yameen resident of Mangolpuri. Yameen, receiver of the stolen property is still at large and search of Yameen is going on.

NOTORIOUS SNATCHER APPREHENDED
The staff of PS Rani Bagh of North West District has apprehended 2 notorious snatchers and one receiver of snatched chains. One of the snatchers has 42 previous involvements and other has one. Receiver of snatched chains have involved in 11 cases.
ACCUSED ARRESTED:
1. Vikram S/o Jagswaroop R/o G-471 Sultanpuri Delhi (age 26 years). (BC of P.S. Sultan Puri)
2. Deepak S/o Rakesh R/O A- 265 Mangolpuri Delhi (age 25 years).
3. Anand Kumar Soni S/o Bhika Ram R/O 823 Pocket-1 Paschim Pur Delhi-63 (age-50 years)
INCIDENT & ARREST
In order to apprehend snatchers entire beat staff and picket staff of P.S. Rani Bagh were briefed that; while carrying out the checking of the vehicles at the police picket it should be ensured by the picket staff to check the young men riding motor-cycles specially pulsars.
1. On 02/04/2013, HC Narender Kumar 217/NW along with Ct. Sanjay 612/NW, Ct. Mukesh 1592/NW and Ct. Prakash Chand 2319/NW were deployed at Rani Bagh Chowk picket stationed at Road No. 43 to check such motor-cycles and to prevent incidents of snatching. At about 2.20 PM, they noticed a black colour pulsar motorcycle ridden by two young men. The number plate of this motor-cycle was deliberately made illegible by omitting one of the digits of the number plate and by smudging it with mud. The staff signaled them to stop but they tried to flee from there. At this the picket staff became suspicious and started chasing them. Finally, they were nabbed after a chase of few meters. They came out to be one Vikram S/o Jagswaroop R/o G-471 Sultanpuri Delhi (BC of P.S. Sultan Puri) and Deepak S/o Rakesh R/O A- 265 Mangolpuri, Delhi. During their search, two gold chains were recovered from the possession of Vikram and four chains from Deepak (pillion rider). Initially, they denied having any knowledge of these six chains but on sustained interrogation they confessed to have snatched those gold chains from various parts of Delhi especially West on that day itself. During the course of investigation, it was revealed that accused Vikram is a desperate snatcher against whom there were 42 criminals cases have been registered in various Police Stations and Deepak is his cousin. Deepak has only one involvement of brawl/assault against him. Both of them used to sell these gold chains to one Anand, receiver of snatched gold chains. At times they used to give snatched chains to the mother of Deepak, Ms. Sunita to dispose of the same. Later raids were conducted and Anand was also arrested and one snatched chain was also recovered from him. Anand has confessed to have bought snatched chains at half the prevailing gold price prevailing in the market.
