Product Description

Mobil Velocite Oil Numbered Series oils are premium quality products primarily intended for the lubrication of high-speed spindles in machine tools. They are also used in hydraulic applications. They are formulated from high quality, low viscosity base stocks and additives which impart good resistance to oxidation and protection against rust and corrosion. With the exception of Mobil Velocite Oil No. 3, the Series possess enhanced antiwear properties and resistance to foaming, and separate readily from water.

Mobil Velocite Oils No.3, No.6 and No.10 are approved by Cincinnati Milacron against specifications P-65, P-62 and P-45 respectively.

Application

Mobil Velocite Oil Numbered Series are recommended for the lubrication of high speed spindle bearings in machine tools, such as precision grinders, which require low viscosity oils. They minimize wear under high load conditions, including those caused by spindle wobble from imbalanced loads. They are also used in sensitive equipment such as precision lathes, jig borers and tracer mechanisms. Mobil Velocite Oil No.3 is recommended for zero clearance type spindle bearings which operate with extremely close tolerances. For sleeve type spindle bearings having greater clearances, the choice of viscosity depends on the relation between clearance and spindle speed.

The higher viscosity grades are also suitable for use in intricate and critical hydraulic systems requiring a low viscosity oil.

In circulating system applications, these oils resist oxidation and deposit formation throughout long term service.
