Culminating Activity Planning a Trip To Costa Rica

Assignment

Tourism in Costa Rica

After doing some background research on Costa Rica, your task is to develop a long- weekend itinerary (3 full days) for a vacation for you and one friend to this beautiful country. You have no more than $5000 (Canadian) to spend for the entire time you are there.

·  Part1: In doing so, you must:

o  Create a three-day itinerary that outlines the various activities you will take part. Make sure to include airfare, accommodations, activities, meals, etc. in your itinerary.

o  Identify what you will be doing in the morning, afternoon and evening each day.

o  Pictures/graphics should be added to make your itinerary appealing to others.

·  Part 2: In addition, answer the following questions

o  Define the region you will be visiting and provide justification to support your perspective.

o  Explain whether or not your choice of activities involves mass or sustainable tourism, or a combination of both. Provide examples (at least 3), with evidence, as proof of this.

o  Identify the primary type(s) (or category - e.g. nature) of tourism you have chosen for your long weekend. Explain why this choice was made.

o  Identify at least 2 travel draws and 1 travel deterrent (with explanation) that would cause people to enjoy or not want to go on your planned trip.

o  Ensure your answers are detailed.

·  Part 3:

o  Finally, create a pie chart, to show the breakdown of your trip budget (what % of your $5000 you spent on transportation, accommodation, activities, and meals)

o  Remember this pie graph should have a clear title, labels, legend, and source of information. It should also be clear and easy to read.

·  Part 4: Please plan your trip

o  While you can take ideas from other sources, be sure you are planning an original trip and include a bibliography, where you outline the references (websites and other sources) you check.

o  *Your project will not be marked without this*.

o  **Please note: This is a major project, and will be used in my assessment "of learning" and count towards your class average. Therefore, it is imperative that it is completed and submitted on time!
