Attacking tactics lesson 3.
Achievement Objective(s)
AO4B2
Learning Outcome(s) and/or Learning Intentions
What should the students learn?
To describe ways of attacking in small sided games. / Assessment and/or Success Criteria
How do we know what we have learnt?
Be able to describe the concept of a 1-2- all
Be able to perform a 1-2 in low pressure situations- most
Be able to perform a 1-2 in high pressure situations- some
Key Competency Focus
How is this key competency developed in this lesson?
Thinking- students will need to think of different ways in which they can get round the defender and use these in a modified game.

Reflection
What tactics did you use in your game? Why did it work well?
Who could do a 1-2 in a drill?
Who could do it in a game?.. high or low pressure?
Who understands the concept? / This will ensure students think about the space that is available to them.
The larger squares are cones, and smaller cones people. One player goes through at a time, the others stay still to perform a “1-2” move i.e. the runner passes the ball to the static man who volleys it back to him as he runs round the cone ( defender).
This drill can be made more difficult be swopping cones for defenders! Either players.. or I might jump in myself.. adds to context for players understanding.
Set up three or four sets of these to increase participation.
While the boys are static and waiting for the ball, they can do their own stretches.
Activity 1.
Place students in groups of 3.
One player remains in the tram line, the other two in the box area. A dark square shows their playing area.
The diagram shows a 1-2 move. The attackers are marked at smiles and defender a star. The attacker who is being marked by the defender passes the ball into the tram line to their player. They must then try to lose their defender and collect a pass back from their player.
Swop players round so that they all get a go in different positions.
Activity 2.
This time it’s a 3 v 1 game. They heart in the middle can’t move out the of the square and is a middle man for the 1-2. Meanwhile the one defender tries to intercept.
Over loading the game with heaps of attackers, allows students to practice the skill in a low pressure situation.
1.  If students struggle allow them to throw the ball rather than dribble as this maybe their limiting factor.
2.  IF STUDENTS ARE HIGHLY CAPABLE MOVE THEM TO A 2v2 WITH NO CENTRE MAN.
Activity 1.
Play games on 4 ON 4.
( so set up 3-4 grids, depending on number S)
The rules of the game are just like football.
Whoever kicks the ball out of play, it becomes the oppositions, no handball. The aim of the game is to make a 1-2 when this happens the team scores 3 points.
