About Errol’s & Co:

After such a fun and successful debut as an independently managed venue in 2017, Errol’s Co performance space will again take-over the upstairs of Errol’s Care in North Melbourne.

Errol’s & Co is a 35-40 seat space located above the family-run andlicensed Errol’s Café, on the corner of Errol and Queensberry streets, North Melbourne. Opposite the Melbourne Fringe Hub. With over seven years of industry experience - running fringe venues, box offices, producing shows, production managing and more from Adelaide to Edinburgh –we are an artist-friendly space and can’t wait to work with you and your show.

Errol’s Café is also excited to continue supporting artists of Melbourne Fringe.

The Basics:

Venue Hire Fee per performance: $150+ 15% total box office takings(fee includes show operator/technician and technical rehearsal as well as Box Office and Front of House)

Seating: 35 seats (possibly a few more)

Access: venue is upstairs (no lift)

Bar: yes, downstairs (drinks can be brought into the show)

What are we looking for?

Errol’s & Co has a particular interest in queer artists, feminist work,the kooky and the weird, clowning, live art, music, spoken word and sketch, but ALL types of performances and performers are welcome to apply!Kids and family shows also welcome to apply.

As a pop-up space, we will only have a basic (but quality!) sound & light set-up so please keep this in mind when applying!

Errol’s & Co Season:

Approx. nightly performance times: 7pm, 8:15pm & 9:30pm (perhaps 4pm on Sat & Sun)

First Week: Thursday 13th – Tuesday 18th September (6 days, no Wednesday)

Second Week: Thursday 20th – Tuesday 25th September (6 days, no Wednesday)

Third (short) Week: Thursday 27th – Sunday 30th September (4 days)

Technical Details

Tech equipment listedbelow isn’t finalised, but we will have basic and quality set-up. Keen to bring additional technical equipment along? No worries – let us know when you apply.

Tech rehearsals and (possible) performance rehearsals included in nightly venue hire fee.

Storage: yes, but only a small amount of space that doubles as dressing room

Changing area: yes, but very small and no access while previous performance is on

Backstage area: yes, limited

Box Office and FOH: provided (no extra cost)

Technician: included in venue hire fee

Stage: Approx. 3m x 3m (not raised)

Sound Equipment: 2x powered speakers, 1 x 4 channel mixer, 1 x stereo DI

Lighting Equipment:general wash made up of LED colours and generic lighting fixtures as well as a generic spot

AV Equipment: nil

Backstage/Dressing Room: minimal
