- All-Star Tournament Application
- Lakeside was the only league that applied for the Majors All Star Tournament.
- We need to begin working on finding a Tournament Coordinator.
- Lawsuit Update
- Court date was postponed.
- The 1st court date will be 10/17/14.
- Finances – Mark Lynch
- Current balance sheet
- $90,000 in the bank.
- Our heavy spending will be over the next few months.
- Unfinished Business
- Opening Day/Fundraisers/Sponsors – Laura Stannard
- Round Table Pizza Home Run certificates are in the snack bar.
- Arena Softball event- staffing for the event was poor and Laura submitted a complaint. The league made $990 from the event.
- We haven’t received the totals from The Habit fundraising night.
- Opening Day
- Laura passed out the assignment sheets and event details.
- Tom and Tony will put out the team stakes on the field.
- Cindi and Stacey will be at Feist for student check-in; Cindi will set-up spirit wear table.
- Laura to put up signs at GBHS at 6:00 AM.
- Laura worked it out with the HS Athletic Director to reference the track meet.
- Parade staging and route was explained in detail.
- Good morning Sacramento will be at the parade.
- Roger will start the “short and sweet” ceremony at 10:00 AM.
- Kane Wilkin will do the pledge with the players.
- Roger will give public praise to Dave Fritsch of Morgan Stanley for all of their support.
- Dinger from the RiverCats will be announced and GBHS players and cheerleaders will line the base paths.
- Mike Egan will throw out the first pitch to Kane Wilkin.
- Kovars and a dance team will perform near the AAA field.
- Ceremony will be complete by 10:30 and festivities will go until 4:00 PM.
- Capital Improvement: Pitch Count for Scoreboard – Kane Wilkin
- Estimated price for the (2) new scoreboards is $4,000 each; this would put us over our planned budget for capital improvements this year.
- Jim Deslaurier was concerned with the perception of spending so much money for these items when t-ball and younger divisions need things, too.
- While these would be nice to have, the board generally didn’t consider them as a high priority given the cost.
- No motion was made or vote taken at this time.
- Team Parent Night Review– Cindi Marment
- All but four team parents were in attendance; Cindi briefed these parents at a later time.
- Snack Shack Security/LiveScan – Dan Meier
- County approved our security system today (3/5).
- This included the alarm, video and locks.
- It will take 2 – 3 days to install everything.
- Mark purchased the Wells Fargo credit card terminal.
- New Business
- WiFi – Dan Meier
- WAVE broadband and AT&T Hotspot are too expensive, so not going to purchase.
- Junior Division Discussion – Fred Beltjens
- The schedule is complete.
- We have (1) team with (14) players.
- Games will be played on Saturdays at Granite Bay Community Park.
- Umpire Plan – RJ Radler
- We will have (2) umpires for Majors.
- Clinic on Sunday 3/9 from 1:00 – 3:00 at Feist.
- Snack Shack – Cindi Marment
- Eileen Hamilton will be in charge of the snack shack at Granite Bay Community Park.
- When closing down the shack each night, (2) people will count and sign for the money that was raised.
- “Girls on the Run” fundraiser at Feist – Roger Wilson
- Non-profit promoting healthy lifestyles through exercise.
- They will be allowed to set up a table at games to sell rainbow loom bracelets, but not cookies.
- Safety Reminder – Roger Wilson
- Reminder for managers and coaches to be diligent regarding bat safety; be aware of when and where players are swinging bats to avoid hitting someone.
- Open Forum
- LifeScan has turned out to be a headache. Originally it was supposed to be free to volunteers, but Roseville Police Department charges $15. We discussed a mobile unit, but we must have at least 12 people. No decision made at this point in time.
- Opening Day Majors games start time pushed to 11:00 AM to accommodate the late games. One of the AAA games will be moved to Kiwanis Park.
