Works have been completed on roof repairs and lighting in the Viewforth building. Work is ongoing on heater panel replacement on the top floor during holiday periods.
Windows will not be replaced due to the prospect of a new or refurbished Boroughmuir.
Wave 3 - New school - work is almost completed on developing a specification for the new school, with Barry Best.
Malcolm Fraser has been working with the City of Edinburgh in developing a ‘plan of possibilities’ for the Viewforth site.
Management Restructuring - Secondment - J Hamilton
As you are aware I have been asked to work in the Children and Families Department to support Head Teachers in the Management Restructuring of Principal Teachers and Depute Head Teachers in the 23 High Schools. This takes place from 3 May with a review in December.
Mr David Dempster will be Acting Head Teacher and his post of Senior Depute Head Teacher will not be replaced in line with Management Restructuring. All 3 Depute Head Teachers will remain in post. Mrs Greco’s secondment ends in June.
In Boroughmuir our Depute Head Teacher and Principal Teacher budget allocation has gone from
DHT’s 4 to 3
PT’s 25 to 17
This will mean that a faculty structure will be introduced over the next 2 years with potentially one current PT managing up to a maximum 3 Departments.
I look forward to returning to Boroughmuir in 2012.
