1WOODLANDS HOUSE NURSING HOME
Our Aims
At Woodlands House our aim is to provide our residents with a true home from home experience and not to encumber them at this stage in their lives with rigid rules and regulations. We strive to make our residents happy, content, comfortable, safe and most importantly to have inner peace.
Our Objectives
Our primary objective is the maintenance of the health, welfare and general wellbeing of our residents. It is also a primary objective of ours to ensure that all our residents whatever their situation enjoy their time in Woodlands House and benefit from the excellent care provided so as to make their remaining years as pleasurable as possible.
Our Ethos
At Woodlands House we believe in the primacy of our residents and their needs - this alone drives everything that we do and underpins our core philosophy of caring for residents as unique individuals .
Care Needs delivered In Woodlands House.
Woodlands House provides a comprehensive range of care and can meet needs of residents which vary from low level mobility and independent living issues to high level care needs for those who may be disorientated.
The following descriptions of dependency levels are used by the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) in their “Annual Return for Providers of Designated Centres: Residential Care Centres for Older People” and Woodlands House can cater for each of the following categories.
Low dependency: This category refers to people who need some support in the community and the more independent residents in residential accommodation who require little nursing care. They are usually independently mobile but may use a walking stick and have difficulty managing stairs.
Medium Dependency: Person whose independence is impaired to the extent that he/she requires residential care because the appropriate support and nursing care required by the person cannot be provided by the community. Mobility is impaired to the extent that the person requires supervision or a walking aid.
High Dependency: Independence is impaired to the extent that the person requires residential care but is not bed bound. The person may have a combination of physical and mental disabilities, may be confused at times and be incontinent. He/she may require a walking aid and physical assistance to walk.
Maximum Dependency: Person whose independence is impaired to the extent that he/she requires nursing care. The person is likely to be bed bound, requires assistance with all aspects of physical care and may be ambulant but confused, disturbed and incontinent.
