COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
· Community Development: PNC boosts the quality of life in neighborhoods through affordable housing, economic revitalization and customized financial solutions. In 1982 PNC was the first financial services company to establish a community development corporation. The ongoing mission of community development is to promote the revitalization of low and moderate-income neighborhoods throughout the local community by making loans and equity investments in residential and small business commercial real estate.
· Community Reinvestment Act (CRA): PNC earned an “outstanding” rating in 2009 for exceeding Community Reinvestment Act standards. The mission of the CRA Team is to distinguish PNC as the recognized leader in revitalizing neighborhoods. In our efforts to provide wealth-creating opportunities for the individuals and communities we seek to serve, we will deliver exceptional service, foster productive relationships and generate innovative and sustainable solutions.
· Charitable Giving/Foundation and °PNC Grow Up Great: At PNC we know that giving back to the community is the right thing to do. The PNC Foundation forms partnerships with nonprofit organizations to advance mutual objectives driven by two priorities: (1) early childhood education; and (2) community and economic development. The ° PNC Grow Up Great program is a $100 million, 10-year investment to improve school readiness among children from birth to age five through public/private collaboration, grants, advocacy and education. PNC employees have contributed more than 100,000 volunteer hours.

SUPPLIER ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
The definition of women-, minority-owned and/or disadvantaged business entities for the PNC Supplier Diversity and Development effort is a firm that has proof of third party diversity certification and is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by one or more members of the following groups:

MWDBE PARTICIPATION ON THIS RFP
As a financial services institution, the products and services to be delivered by PNC as a result of this contract award are part of our core competencies and within our fundamental service offerings. As a result, it is not our practice to sub-contract any of the financial services components of this contract to an external supplier. However, based on our Supplier Diversity and Development commitment, we do seek out diverse suppliers for all sourceable products and services as well as track and monitor our global corporate spending with diverse firms including both Tier I direct spend and Tier II direct and indirect spending.
PERFORMANCE PROGRESS
In 2011 PNC, spent over $ 217 MM with women, minority, veteran, service disabled veteran and disadvantage-owned business entities, optimizing our MWDBE database of over 2200+ firms.
Services provided by these firms included printing; construction; facility management; technology consulting, hardware and staffing; marketing, and telecommunications to name a few.

PNC believes in fair competition. Our practices incorporate a uniform set of standards for all suppliers in relation to competitive prices, quality products and quality service.
We partner with business, civic and trade organizations across our footprint to strengthen our SDD efforts and provide innovative methods that promote MWDBE growth and excellence.
· We utilize an online registration form which enables the SDD area and purchasing managers to track and find qualified suppliers while introducing suppliers’ products and achievements to purchasing decision-makers.
· We work with community organizations to present complimentary, educational workshops to local MWDBE’s to assist them in the development and mastery of business strategies to advance growth and operational/financial stability.
