Alcohol & Other Drugs Policy Acknowledgement
If a student group is hosting an event off-campus, that is considered a University-related activity and the Student Conduct Code applies. If your club/organization is the organizer or “host” of the University-related activity held off-campus, it is a reasonable expectation that your club/organization take proactive measures to ensure that guests do not violate the Student Conduct Code. This may include: providing guests with the Student Conduct Code prior to the event or informing guests that the Student Conduct Code applies to the event; not serving or providing alcoholic beverages at the event (i.e. your club/organization cannot host a cash bar at your event); notifying attendees prior to event that it is “substance free”; requesting that guests who may be in violation of the Student Conduct Code to leave the event.
