History Assignment: Indigenous Peoples around the World

Goal:Your task is to research any particular group of indigenous people and prepare a presentation to inform the class of the contributions and struggles of those people.

Role: Your role is to be a researcher and use various resources to investigate and record information to meet the requirements. I have provided sites on the class website for support. Your presentation is NOT a power point but a multi-media presentation that must include the following information:

  1. Origins (world location, exact)
  2. Population
  3. Characteristics (what makes them unique)
  4. Lifestyle (hobbies, interest, past times)
  5. Traditions (music/dance, ceremonies)
  6. Customs (attire)
  7. Contributions (art, craft, music, etc.)
  8. Concerns (problems they are experiencing, use handout)
  9. Resolutions (action taken on their behalf, UN involvement, etc.)
  10. Organizations/memberships

Situation: Your challenge is to create empathy and understanding of the Plight of Indigenous Peoples

Product: You will incorporate the information into a multi-media presentation (commercial/documentary) to inform and bring attention to that group of people. Your final project should contain sound, moving images, video images, some informative text and/or labeling, and still shots for the class to view and understand.
