EWP Yoga Class

FallMid-Session 2014

The EWP Yoga Class is for all levels and abilities. You will work at your own pace in this class and will learn about and receive all the benefits of practicing yoga. The instructor will introduce you to postural alignment and healing yoga poses and will work within your present flexibility and fitness levels. You will be guided through meditation, relaxation and breathing techniques that will increase your well-being and enhance your outlook on life. You will be given several movements each week that are easy to practice at home.

About the Instructors:

Alexis Kemp graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a B.A. in Theatre Arts in May 2005. She is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher, which means she has her 200-hour basic training, a 500-hour advanced certification, and that she trains yoga teachers. Her class formats are always changing, incorporating restorative poses with the regular practice to bring the focus even deeper within.

Mackenzie MacSweenis a registered yoga teacher and certified massage therapist, both at the 500-hour Advanced level. She has been practicing and studying yoga since 2001 and she currently teaches anatomy for yoga teachers for both Cloud Nine Yoga and Yoga Works 200-hour Teacher Training program throughout California and Mexico. She received her M.S. in Kinesiology from CSUF and she currently offers on-site massage therapy and wellness related services. Mackenzie offers a challenging yoga class in which you are given the freedom to work at your own pace, take care of your body, and yet be challenged on multiple levels.

Samantha Gallo has been sharing her knowledge of yoga since 2004.She isaRegistered YogaTeacher at the 500-hour advanced level and currently teaches the Beginning and Intermediate Yoga courses in the Kinesiology Department. She has experience in Thai Massage, Partner Yoga, Aromatherapy and Kids Yoga. Herintention for teaching othersis to makethem feel good and put a smile on their faces.

Stella Tryonis an expert registered Yoga teacher with over 3,000 hours of instruction. Her creative approach to teaching yoga is influenced by her affection for the art of living. Holding several National certifications in group fitness, she attended Cloud Nine Yoga School and was forever changed.Stella hopes to bring some peace of mindandhealth to the bodies of the Employees here at Cal State Fullerton, her alma mater.

Details of the EWP Yoga Class:

  • Classes run from October 20/21 through December 17/18 (16 weeks)
  • Section 1 meets Monday/Wednesday at 12:00-1:00pm in KHS-203, Samantha / Mackenzie
  • Section 2 meets Tuesday/Thursday at 12:00-1:00pm in KHS-203, Alexis Kemp
  • Section 3 meets Monday/Wednesday at 5:15-6:15pm in KHS-109, Stella Tryon

EWP Yoga Class fees:

  • Class fee is $72.00 ($52.00if concurrently enrolled in another EWP exercise class)
  • *10-Class Punch Pass is $50.00:

*Use the 10-visits for any Yoga class during the Fall 2014 semester. The pass is not transferable and expires at the end of Fall 2014.
