EDEN DISTRICT SPORT ACADEMY

The EDSA, under manager Abri de Swardt, is doing a sterling job. The new intake is new in the process of being evaluated and tested. Many of the academy athletes, swimmers, and cyclists have performed well on the national stage. The EDSA and EDENSC Mancos have resolved the challenges between the two managements. A meeting was held between DCAS and EDENSC that will be followed up with a meeting scheduled for 3 July 2015 in Oudtshoorn. At this meeting agreement was reached as how to tackle the road ahead. A meeting is scheduled for 13 Aug 2015.

SCHOOL SPORT

The EDENSC was involved in the DCAS Roadshow to the Eden district where the areas of George, Oudtshoorn, Mossel Bay and Riversdale were visited and presentations were made. DCAS [Claude Meyer] forwarded an possible template for a uniform constitution. This will now be adapted to suit the Eden situation. The EDENSC is awaiting further invitation as to formalise school sport in the Eden District.

WCPSC TMC

The Roadshow by the WCPSC TMC presented by JP Naude on 27 May 2015 attracted about 15 EDENSC members which were not up to expectations. This was however useful for uniformed members and the conclusion was that the score card must be amended to service local federations.

MEMBER MATTERS

The EDENSC is currently in the process of assisting the following DSF with challenges: Eden Boxing still remains a major challenge as 4 meetings were already scheduled – the last one on 27 June 2015, but with no success. A meeting was also scheduled with WC Fedansa during the Youth Festival in Oudtshoorn in order to solve the situation in SWD Fedansa. This did not materialise.
