Getting your video organized

How long should my video be?

Your video can be as long or as short as you want it to be. The overall length of the video will be determined by the number of pictures you want to show and the number of songs you choose. We find that a photo should ideally be on the screen for6 seconds. Any shorter, and your audience will feel rushed and the picture may not evoke the desired emotion. Any longer, and your audience will think it’s slow.

Will you scan my pictures?

We will be happy to scan your pictures. We encourage our customers to scan their own pictures or take them to a photo store to be scanned. This ensures safer delivery and prevents the possible loss or damage of original photos during delivery. Even with insurance, if your package is lost or damaged and you do not have a copy of your photos, they will be lost forever. We accept pictures in .tif, .jpg, and .bmp formats. As an added benefit, receiving digital images will allow us to begin designing your slide show without delay. Please refer to our Getting Organized section for additional information on scanning and sequencing your pictures. If you still need us to scan your pictures, there is an extra cost of $.50 per picture.

What steps do you take to ensure my pictures and media will not be damaged?

We can only guarantee the integrity of your pictures and media from the moment we receive them until the moment we ship them. We retain all media in the original packaging in our design studio until we begin work on your slideshow. Once we have completed your slideshow, we place all pictures and media in waterproof packaging and prepare for shipment. For shipment, we put all media in a bubble package. For photos, we place them in a hard back envelop to help prevent bending during shipment. We will stamp the outside of the envelope to indicate the package should not be bent. While we take every measure to ensure your photos and media maintain their original integrity, we are not responsible for and loss or damage that may occur as a result of a parcel carrier.

How do I send you my pictures and music?

We suggest you ship your pictures and music via an insured delivery method. No matter the carrier, you will need to include your order form, photos in sequential order or cd with photos numbered sequentially, original music media (or select to have music purchased from an online retailer), and payment (if paying by cashier’s check or money order). Please refer to our Getting Organized section for additional information.

Will I get my pictures and music returned to me?

Yes! We return all original materials to our customers in addition to your new slideshow. For any scanned pictures, you will also receive a CD containing your scanned pictures for personal archiving.

Can I use copyrighted music?

Yes, you can use copyrighted music. According to the US Copyright law, a consumer may purchase the right to use copyrighted material for personal use. If you own the original media for a song, you will need to include that in your shipment. Or, we can purchase most songs from a trustworthy online retailer like Rhapsody or iTunes. Additionally, you must agree to not copy your slideshow for distribution. For a list of suggested music, please refer to our Music Suggestions section.

Can I see my slideshow before I purchase?

Absolutely! Prior to us billing you, we can send you a link where you can view your slide online.

Special Effects

What are pan and zoom and do you use these effects?

Also known as Ken Burns Effects. Panning is where a picture moves across a screen, in any direction. Zooming is where a picture is zoomed into or out of. Zooming also allows the subject matter to be to focal point of the zoom effect where the slide zooms into or away from a person or object in a picture. We use panning and zooming effects in all of our videos. Used separately or together, these effects add life and “watch-ability” to any slideshow.

What are slide transition effects?

Slide Transition Effects are the action that takes place from moving from one picture to the next. There are many different effects that can be used, from a simple fade to a more complex graphics motion. We use different effects based on what is happening with pictures in the slide you are fading from and to. We can also customize the effects based on your needs and wants.

What is slide show looping and do I need it?

Slide show looping is when your slide show will continuously play without any intervention. This feature is typically used when the slide show is meant as a backdrop to any function. When a slide show is used as a “centerpiece” for an audience to view, looping is generally not desired.

Receiving your video

Will my video play in my DVD player?

Generally speaking, yes. The DVD-R format we use is playable in over 98% of DVD players on the market today. You can go to and search for your DVD player’s model number. Once you receive your completed slideshow, we encourage you to play your video in the DVD player you intend to use for presentation. If you are unable to test it, we suggest having a backup DVD player you have tested the DVD in (portable DVD players or laptops work great for this)

My video was great! How can I receive additional copies for family or friends?

We retain your slideshow master for 2 years. During that time frame, we can create as many as 20 DVD’s. Each additional copy is $25.

My slideshow is not what I expected. Can you fix it in time?

We work hard to ensure your satisfaction prior to your receiving your video. If there were errors as a result of our work, we will gladly fix those errors and overnight you a new slideshow at no cost to you. If there are minor changes you would like to have made that were not a part of the original design, we can make those changes at a cost of $50. Major changes to the video can be made as well, at a cost of $100 per change. For both major and minor changes, overnight shipping is extra. Except for rush orders, we aim to have your video ready two weeks after we receive your order.

Are there any perks for referrals?

Yes! For each referral you send us that results in the purchase of a slideshow package, we will send you a $25 American Express Gift Card.
