PPT – Shared Goals and Action Plans
Next Step Activities will come up Monday afternoon after the call: / Programs reported using a variety of tools to identify goals in partnership with classroom staff: CLASS, Practice Implementation checklists, ERS, TPOT/TPITOS, ASQ,
Using a checklist can make using a tool to focus observations and coaching more time efficient and manageable if you do not have the funds or time to take on a larger tool.
A tool helps focus areas to address but the person being coached has to have some choice in what they will work on first.
Action steps have to answer these questions: What, who, when, where, how often?
Scheduling a specific time when a strategy will be practiced also helps with scheduling coaching sessions. You can be in a classroom for a brief period when the task is to be used to see how it is going. This is much more efficient that just hanging out and hoping to see something you want.
When creating an action plan, do not try to address everything. Choose one or two strategies to implement.
Use the SMART Strategy
S-Specific
M-Measurable
A-Action Oriented
R-Realistic
T-Time Bound
