Thursday, March 9 is a half day. We will be having report card conferences that afternoon and evening. Please make sure you sign up for an appointment on the sheet sent home last week. If you cannot make any of the times provided, we can schedule an appointment for a different day.

Monday 3-6-17 / Reading Unit 4: Bigger Books- 40 minutes of reading. Fill in your reading log.
·  Before reading: preview the text
·  What do you think the book is going to be about?
·  What do you think the problem is going to be in this story? Why?
Writing Unit 4: Opinion Writing
·  Generate- make a list of topics you have strong feelings about in your homework notebook (which animal is the best, what is the best color, day of the week, superhero, game, sport)

Tuesday 3-7-17 / Reading Unit 3: 40 minutes of reading. Fill in your reading log.
·  As you read, stop and jot your retell of every chapter. Be sure to tell the important parts in order. Write your retell in your homework notebook.
Writing Unit 4: Opinion Writing
·  Plan- Plan your opinion writing piece in the writing booklet in your homework packet. Use one (or more) of the following strategies to plan:
1.  Touch and tell
2.  Sketch a picture on each page
3.  Write a keyword or two on each page

Wednesday 3-8-17 / Reading: 30-40 minutes of reading. Fill in your reading log. Answer the following question:
