Claim for Thesis Allowance
Explanation of Requirements
Postgraduate Scholarship With Stipend (i.e. salary) holders, where eligible, are entitled to apply for a thesis allowance, payable for expenses associated with preparing the number of copies of a theses required by the University for submission (that is, four soft cover copies for examination at doctoral level or three soft cover copies at master’s level and one acid-free hard cover and two Read-Only CD-ROMs for the University Library after examination). The maximum amount reimbursedwill be in accordance with the current rate approved by the University. The allowance does not cover the cost of purchase of computer equipment or software.
Signed and dated original receipts indicating the type of service provided, as well as the name, address and telephone number of the provider, must be attached.
Claims cannot be made prior to submission of the thesis and must be made no later than 6 months after the date of submission and within 24 months of the Scholarship Expiry Date.
