Creating a CPRS Tools Menu link to REPROTOX
NOTE: Some facilities will choose to place a hyperlink to REPROTOX directly on the CPRS Tools menu. Others will place the hyperlink on an existing website that is accessed from the Tools menu. Either approach is acceptable, and should be accompanied by staff education to inform providers of the availability of this new resource. The instructions here are for a direct CPRS Tools menu link.
These instructions are built from the Hines VA Hospital CPRS Tools Menu.
Your responses for selection of “Sequence” and “SubMenu” will vary.
Select CPRS Manager Menu Option: PE CPRS Configuration (Clin Coord)
Select CPRS Configuration (Clin Coord) Option: GP GUI Parameters
Select GUI Parameters Option: TM GUI Tool Menu Items
CPRS GUI Tools Menu may be set for the following:
1 User USR [choose from NEW PERSON]
2 Location LOC [choose from HOSPITAL LOCATION]
2.5 Service SRV [choose from SERVICE/SECTION]
3 Division DIV [choose from INSTITUTION]
4 System SYS [HINES.MED.VA.GOV]
Enter selection: 4 System HINES.MED.VA.GOV
------Setting CPRS GUI Tools Menu for System: HINES.MED.VA.GOV ------
Select Sequence: ?
This step is to choose the sequence number where REPROTOX will be listed.
In the Hines example, there are several SUBMENU entries.
Notice Sequence #15 which is SUBMENU 2 for “Medical Library/Clinical Resources”.
So I am choosing to place REPROTOX as part of SUBMENU 2, and select a sequence number that is available in that area of the numeric list, such as #37.

The format here is interpreted as follows:
- The Ampersand (&) makes the next character (the 'R') underlined for keyboard access
- The [2] identifies this menu as part of submenu 2
- The URL shown after the equals sign ('=') is the address for the REPROTOX website.
