Put your CD in the computer

When System Works loads up, you will get a quick dialog box that will provide you the opportunity to Install Norton System Works, Install other tools, or Launch from the CD.

It is very important that you select, LAUNCH from the CD. You have ONLY ONE License.

Your next dialog box gives you the opportunity to run Disk Doctor, Norton WinDoctor, UnErase, and Wipeinfo. All four of these applications are powerful tools for protecting your system data.

We will select, however, WinDoctor.

Select Perform all tasks and then watch WinDoctor go through your registry and look for any potential problem areas. The registry is Windows most important database of all files and important memory locations. It stores the driver and installation information that Windows needs to operate.

When Windows has had the chance to look through your system, it will report how many problems, if any, it finds and lists them in categories.

You will be warned that since you are running this off of a CD, there will be no "UN-DO" option available.

WinDoctor will report all problems found. Sometimes you will not believe how many simple and midlevel problems exist in a system that appears to be running well. You have the opportunity to find out more about a problem, individually select a problem and then click on the Repair tool, or you can select Repair All.
