Job title: Data & Insights Analyst

Main purpose of job
· Gather data from various sources and perform analysis, trending and forecasting for the Services and Fundraising, Marketing and Communications directorates.
· Production of regular KPI reports, operational metrics and dashboards for the trustee committees, executive team and senior management teams.
· Respond to ad-hoc requests for analysis
· Work with IT in the continuous improvement of report production
· Engage with service owners where you have identified meaningful trends and analysis
Essential qualifications
· Graduate or equivalent
Essential skills and experience
· Understanding of producing dashboards for different levels of management within the organisation using excel and other BI tools
· Analytical skills incorporating statistical methods, to identify a problem, analyse cause.
· Excellent documentation, excel and presentation skills.
· Must have good analytical & innovation skills to study the current state of processes and reporting, perform gap analysis and recommend improvements.
· SQL
· Power BI & other insight tools
· MS Excel
· Visual design aptitude for presentational material and attention to detail for report creation.
· Skilled in various reporting tools / mechanisms as well as a quick aptitude for learning new tools.
· Exceptional excel, data analysis and report preparation skills.
Desirable experience
· Six Sigma Green belt or above
· Not for profit experience

Key accountabilities
· Establish strong working relationships with peers and key stakeholders across the charity - working collaboratively with them on the development of key insight outputs, such as reports, dashboards and analysis.
· Understand current and future insight requirements, including operational performance, management insight, strategic and customer insight (not exhaustive)
· Aid the Director of Strategic Business Planning and the Executive team to build a scorecard that enables Blue Cross to understand its performance against the impact it has planned for pet welfare.
· Establish one version of the truth, through the documentation of metric definitions, calculations and ownership.
· Ensure line of sight from all metrics used in Blue Cross to the scorecard key performance indicators.
· Ensure data quality standards are kept and develop processes to ensure the ongoing monitoring of quality issues and correction within the source systems.
· Support Directors in the development of meaningful KPIs and dashboards.
· Collaborate with IT & third party suppliers where applicable, to develop repeatable processes for integrating data and making it accessible and to allow for the widest possible range of uses of the data for Blue Cross Insight purposes.
· Establish with IT standardised processes by which data is acquired from operational systems, integrated, cleansed and delivered to the chosen BI environment in a timely manner.
· Assess and segment the insight community within Blue Cross based on the evaluation of their varying needs, delivering solutions which meet their requirements, achieved in a way which standardises the style of Insight appropriate for each user community – minimising complexity.
· Provide best practise and previous experience to ensure Blue Cross are able to maximise the use of insight to enable fast effective decision making.
Salary
Circa £25,000 per annum dependent upon qualifications and experience
Job details
Based at Burford, standard working hours for this post are 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Due, however, to the nature of the work of Blue Cross and this post in particular, it may be necessary to exceed these hours when the deadlines demands.
