Strong Arm Robbery

On 5-22-09 at 1131 hours, The Huntington Beach Police Department received a call of a strong arm robbery that just occurred at the vacant Mervyns department store located at the Bella Terra shopping mall at 7777 Edinger Ave.

A 70 year old female victim went to the store not knowing the store was vacant. A male white suspect approached the victim and assaulted her striking her in the left shoulder area. The suspect ripped the victim’s purse from her arm and fled on foot. A passerby witness saw the suspect running away and obtained the suspect vehicle license plate number and vehicle description.

The suspect vehicle was later stopped by the Costa Mesa Police Department in the area of Harbor Blvd just south of the 405 Freeway. Michael Ross HEALEY and Barbara Jean KEATOR, both residents of Costa Mesa, were arrested by Huntington Beach Police. They have been charged with strong arm robbery involving injury as the victim suffered a broken collar bone during the robbery. The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.
