Job purpose
Develops and manages enterprise activities and other projects to achieve CSA aims and deliver CSA member requirements. Undertakes a lead role in engagement and management activities. Responsible for the Cyber Security Academy’s (CSA) enterprise and operationalactivities, under the overall direction of the CSA director and in the context of the research strategies and programmes developed by the CSA director in coordination with all CSA deputy directors.Managesclient relationships, ensures client requirements are met. Managesenterprise and business development, marketing, financial management and commercialisation of research through consultancy, licensing and collaborative research programmes. Develops and managesa broad and significant range of C-level enterprise relationships, ensuring growth the Academy’s membership base.Promotes the Academy as a centre of excellence in research, teaching and outreach on a national and international level. Leads and manages all operational activities, leads outreach and outward facing activities of the Academy.Engages with both public and private sector organisations at the highest level on behalf of the University through the Academy.
Key accountabilities/primary responsibilities / % Time
Build relationships and develop new links with industrial partners in enterprise areas such as consultancy, applied research, service provision, student engagement, technical recruitment and development of educational offerings (in particular CPD) to match client or stakeholder needs. Leads, develops and managesa broad and significant range of enterprise relationships with external organisations (public and private sector) at decision maker level in both CSA member and non-CSA member organisations. Develops, qualifies and manages a pipeline of potential CSA members. Identifies and develops candidate members for the Academy by identifying and developing compellingpropositions through company research, consultative business development and presentation of proposals. / 25 %
Develops and manages planning of CSA Enterprise activities, including new enterprise and business opportunities and innovative collaboration models. Identifies new enterprise relationship opportunities and manages the contractual, budgetary planning and governance issues arising from these activities. / 20 %
Manages all day-to-day aspects of the CSA’s operations ensuring the Academy’s successful development, professional operation and compliance with the Academy’s and the University’s governance requirements. Develops and delivers effective and efficient management processes ensuring that all the CSA’s responsibilities and commitments to members are executed and reported in a transparent and timely manner. / 20%
In consultation with enterprise partners (CSA members and internal UoS groups), leads the development and operational management of a programme of relevant Continued Professional Development (CPD) Courses. Develops and deploys a business model and delivery strategy for CPD courses ensuring that the Academy establishes a significant revenue stream from the programme. / 20 %
Where relevant, represents the CSA / University in the Cyber Security community externally. Attends and participates in national forums, (inter)national conferences and working groups, representing the University as an authority on the Cyber Security landscape.
Occasionally attends and speak at events on behalf of the Director of the CSA. / 5 %
Supports the CSA director inthe CSA’s relationship with the University’s Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research (ACE-CSR) and with the University’s central functions such as HR, finance, RIS and legal services. / 5 %

Qualifications, knowledge and experience / PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in a Cyber Security relevant subject area.
Proven understanding of enterprise and consultancy activities in technology.
Track record of achievement,or proven potential to achieve, within technology based consultancy or management.
Knowledge of Cyber Security as a national issue. / PhD in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering.
Membership of relevant professional bodies.
