The Jaguar Parent Group (JPG) is excited to invite you to participate in a program called “SCRIP”!
“SCRIP” is simply a word that means “substitute money” – in other words, it is gift cards from both National and local retailers. They are the same gift cards that you would buy at the store. Among the most popular are Kohl’s (which you can use to pay your charge account bill), Piggly Wiggly, Marcus Movie, Subway, Wal-Mart and a few different gas stations. There are many more participants and you are very likely to be able to buy SCRIP to pay for most of your purchases! Go to to get a complete list.
The great thing about SCRIP is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work. You earn money for the school – AND money to help pay for your children’s school fees, athletic fees or even to be put in their lunch account! One-half of the profit earned goes into the JPG account – and the other half goes in to an account for your family to use for next year’s school fees. There is no fundraising – no selling – no going door-to-door or taking order forms to work!
For example, let’s say that you purchase $50 Piggly Wiggly, $25 Wal-Mart, $50 Cabela’s and $15 iTunes.
Piggly Wiggly gives back 3%, which, for this sale equals:$1.50
Wal-Mart gives back 2%, which, for this sale equals:$1.00
Cabela’s gives back 11%, which, for this sale equals:$5.50
iTunes gives back 4%, which, for this sale equals:$ .60
The total profit is $8.60, with $4.30 going to the JPG and the same amount going in to your school fee account! And, that is just for one week – each time you buy, it adds up. Many families get all of their fees paid and still have money left over that goes into their students’ hot lunch accounts! It is definitely a WIN-WIN situation.

When you place an order, there are two ways to pay: sign up for Presto Pay on the home page of and have the payment taken right out of your checking account (there is a .39 fee each time) or you can drop your payment in the yellow SCRIP box in the TJ office (or mail it in – but you need to call the SCRIP coordinator to let her know that your payment is coming). Payments must be received prior to the coordinator completing your order.
Orders must be in by 8:30 AM on Mondays and SCRIP is available for pickup by noon the following Friday.
