This AV salon is a platform where creativity is measured and compared with peers.

RESULTS and AWARDS:
A PSSA Silver Medals may be awarded to the best entry in each category.
A PSSA Bronze Medals may be awarded to the runner-up in each category.
Certificates of Merit will be issued.
Entrants will be advised of results by email. Acceptance cards will be issued.

Submission of entry implies permission by the author for entered AVs to be screened at Visual Skills School during exhibition week (9 to 14 June 2017) and featured on salon DVD. AVs will always have the author's full credits.
A DVD with electronic catalogue including statistics, acceptances and successful AVs (to view) will be available at the screening and also distributed to entrants requesting such a DVD (R50).
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:
1. There are 3 categories:
1.1. Creative colour
1.2. Creative monochrome
1.3. Comedy (humour)
2. Photographers are encouraged to explore the photographic medium and to use it to communicate their creative vision, emotion and imagination to the viewer.
3. The photography is not restricted in any way, neither in subject matter nor manipulation during the taking or reproduction stages.
4. Special attention will be given to good photography (source material), and creativity is paramount.
5. Mixed media may be used, i.e. paintings and drawings, provided that this artwork was also created by the author. In short, all visual aspects of audio visual productions (AVs) must be created solely by the author. Using walls with graffiti captured by the camera will be allowed, as long as the graffiti does not play the major role in the story.
6. Third party images are not allowed.
7. All images contributing to the AVs must be the original work of the photographer.
8. Videos may be included in the AVs.
9. Entry is open to single entrants only; no club or group entries will be accepted.
10. Entrants may submit a number of AVs in any or all categories as long as total duration of combined AVs entered do not exceed 12 minutes.
11. “Wings” productions must include the appropriate dll, if an executable is entered. Alternatively, supply an mp4 or AVI production.
12. Monochrome refers to images of a single colour with tones from white to black, slight lenience will be given to use of very de-saturated colour providing the mood and bulk of AV reflects a monochrome feel.
Copyright:
Submission of an entry implies that the entrant holds the copyright to all material used.
YOUR ENTRY:
· AVs may contain the entrant’s name.
· Entrants should acknowledge the work of other artists (e.g. music and voice) in the AV and/or on the entry form.
· Resolution: From 1024px x 768px (4:3 aspect ratio) up to 1920px x 1080px (16:9 aspect ratio) may be submitted.
· The file size of a sequence should not exceed 500Mb when submitted via an Internet service provider. AVs exceeding 500Mb may be sent on CD, DVD or memory stick.
· AVs may be submitted on a CD or DVD to the postal address above or via an internet service provider such as www.wetransfer.com or Dropbox to , and need to be received prior to the closing date.
· Email your entry form (with tracking number, if applicable) to so that we can follow up on the arrival of your CD/DVD/file transfer.
· Enquire from if you do not get an email confirming receipt of your entry by 30 May 2017.
· No entries will be returned and disks will be destroyed after judging.
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:
Your CD/DVD/data transfer may be in more than one batch and must comprise of the following:
1. Entry form (excel identification sheet) fully completed and saved with your name and surname e.g. Tom Jones.xls
2. Your AVs with files named correctly, i.e. sequence file has number and title only
e.g. 01 Yellowstone.exe, 02 Mardigras.mp4 "
3. Small portrait(s) of author(s) included as 512 x 768px jpg saved as e.g. Tom Jones.jpg
4. Supply a flyer or poster for each sequence entered in jpg format, approximately a 1meg file size, using aspect ratio of your choice.
5. Entrant may supply a summary in English of each of the audio visuals entered.
6. Proof of payment with your name as reference (copy of electronic funds transfer).

PSSA members: R100 per entrant (please provide membership number on entry form)
Non-PSSA members: R150 per entrant
