MANDATORY UNITS FOR OPERATIVES:
The mandatory unit to hold a valid Operative card was previously 002, this has now changed to O1.
Candidates can hold either LA or O1 (formally 001 & 002) as a stand-alone qualification. However, in order to have additional units added (O2/O3/O4/O5/O6/O7/O8) it is mandatory that the candidate holds both LA & O1 and that these units are still valid.

The mandatory unit to hold a valid Supervisor card was previously 010, this has now changed to S1.
Candidates can hold either LA or S1 (formally 001 & 010) alone. However, in order to have additional units added (S2/S3/S4/S5/S6/S7) it is mandatory that the candidate holds both LA & S1 and that these units are still valid.

EXPIRY DATES:
The expiry date is determined by the expiry of the LA and O1 qualification. Once the mandatory qualifications have expired, all other additional units cease to be valid until units LA and O1 have been updated and re-assessed.
Candidates can re-assess and apply for a new card within years 1-5 of a cards lifespan.
If a candidate re-assesses in years 1-2 of the cards life the new expiry date will show certificate date plus 5 years.
If a candidate re-assesses in years 3-4 of the cards life the new expiry date will show expiry date plus 6 years.
If a candidate re-assesses in year 5 of the cards life the new expiry date will show expiry date plus 5 years.
