SCHOOL BASED DECISION COUNCIL MINUTES
August 17, 2015 – 4:30PM
The August meeting of the School Based Decision Making Council was held on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 4:30 pm. The meeting was called to order at 4:33 pm by Todd Anderson. Other council members present included Wendy Lyles, Amanda Mott, Nick Ford, Allison Bynum, and Becky Smith and Secretary, Tanara Babcock. Board Representative Brian Harper was also present.
Visitors included: No visitors present
Reading of the Vision/Mission/Beliefs by Todd Anderson
Approval of Written Agenda:
Amend the Agenda: Change the meeting date. Motioned by Wendy Lyles and second by Becky Smith
The agenda for the August meeting was approved, with the observance of the “Approval of July Minutes. Motion by Becky Smith and seconded by Wendy Lyles.
Approval of Minutes: The minutes from the July meeting were approved as presented. Motion by Nick Ford and seconded by Wendy Lyles.
Good News:
· Students in the building: Off to a good start.
· PTO Dairy Queen Fundraiser: Raised close to $400.00
· KSP Active Shooter Training: Teachers and staff are better prepared.
· Cody Lane PD: Went very well.

Budget Report:
· A Section 6 Budget report was discussed. Current balance is $28,781.26
· Activity Fund – was discussed. Current Balance is $8,853.97
· District Activity Fund – Discussed. Current Balance is $16,038.40
· Textbook Budget – Discussed. Current Balance is $2,102.02
· ESS Budget – Discussed. Current Balance is $12,299.00
· PD Budget – Discussed. Current Balance is $2,924.00
New Business:
· Personal Technology use policy development: Leave it optional to the parents but be sure to set ground rules that follow the district technology procedures. First reading will take place at the September meeting.
· Parental involvement policy review: This meeting was adopted during 2014-2015 year. No changes made.
· Wellness policy review: Changes suggested. Third reading during the September meeting.
· Curriculum policy review: Changes suggested. First reading during the September meeting.
· Instructional practice policy review: Changes suggested. First reading during the September meeting.
· SBDM date and time change: Third Tuesday of each month. September meeting will be held on September 22, 2015 @ 4:30 PM
· Textbook budget: Will present the Plan during the September meeting.
Adjourn Meeting: Meeting was adjourned at 5:13 PM.
Amanda Mott made the motion to adjourn and it was seconded by Nick Ford.
