Minutes from the Spring Business Meeting

The Spring Conference for the Ohio Treasurers of Educational Service Centers Association (OTESCA) was held at The Lodge at Geneva-On-The-Lake in Geneva-On-The-Lake on May 28th, 2010.

CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order on May 28th, 2010 at 10:35 a.m. by President Michelle McNeely.

Roll call was taken from the sign in sheet.

MINUTES

A motion was made by Gina Fernbaugh, Wood County ESC, and seconded by Alleyn Unversaw, Southern Ohio ESC, to approve the minutes from the September 15, 2009Fall Business Meeting. The motion was voted and unanimously approved. The motion carried.

FISCAL REPORT

Treasurer – Ann Lamb presented the financial report.

A Motion was made by Greg Spiess,HancockCountyESC, and Seconded by Dorothy Pietrykowski, Northwest Ohio ESC, to accept the Financial Report for the Spring Conference as given by Ann Lamb, Treasurer. The motion was voted and unanimously approved. The motion carried.

OFFICER REPORTS

President – Michelle McNeely

Michelle noted that there are three representatives from OTESCA on the OASBO website and technology committee, Michelle McNeely, Michele Newton, and the Chairman, Matthew Ketcham. If there are any suggestions or comments about the website please direct them to one of those individuals.

A discussion then took place concerning setting up a new USAS fund for permanent improvements.

President Elect – Alleyn Unversaw

Alleyn mentioned that he is assembling a committee of ESC treasurers to discuss ESC funding.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Legislative

Discussion was continued on the creation of a USAS fund for permanent improvements.

Constitution

Matthew Ketcham, Madison-Champaign ESC, reported that the OTESCA Constitution is now posted on the OASBO website under the ESC Chapter page.

Program

Michelle McNeely, Medina County ESC, thanked Greg Spiess, Ann Lamb, and Tom Morehouse for planning the Spring Conference.

Membership

Joni Shoemaker, MontgomeryCountyESC, will be nominated for Secretary of OTESCA.

OLD BUSINESS

None.

NEW BUSINESS

A motion was made by Dorothy Pietrykowski, Northwest Ohio ESC, to approve the following slate of officers. The motion was seconded by Tom Morehouse, PortageCountyESC. The motion was voted and unanimously approved. The motion carried.

The officers were sworn in by current President Michelle McNeely for the Fiscal Year 2011:

Vice President – Matthew Ketcham, Madison-Champaign ESC

Alleyn Unversaw presented a Presidential plaque to President Michelle McNeely for her service to the Ohio Treasurers Educational Service Center Association.

There being no further business to conduct, a motion was made by Al Fleckinger, Clermont County ESC and seconded by Gregory Spiess, Hancock County ESC, to adjourn the meeting at 11:18 a.m. The motion was voted and unanimously approved. The motion carried.
